When we visited the boat show in Leipzig in 2016, among the many brands and shapes on offer, a Drago 601 from Öchsner particularly caught our attention.

The size was right for us, the equipment was great and the space for the two of us was perfect. The weight and size of the boat was important to us because it has to be towable on rivers and lakes without slipping, which for us should become a horror show.

For two years I had been looking for a used boat that met these requirements.

So we decided to go to the Öchsner company in Kürnach and bought a new boat, now called 20 – YACHTLINE-! Mr. Küffner advised us very well on the necessary and useful equipment and Mr. Öchsner gave us practical instructions on the Main during the delivery of the boat in Kürnach in 2018.

In the same year, the Adriatic in the Croatian region around Trogir was cruised. In 2019 the trip went to Lake Maggiore, Feriolo / Baveno in the south of the lake.

In June 2020, Lake Garda was booked with apartment and float, but unfortunately everything was canceled due to Covid-19. At short notice, we decided to take a few days vacation on the Elbe in the Dresden area.

The port was the Dresden / Wachwitz sailing club. We found a suitable slip in Coswig, about 8 km below Dresden.

The Elbe Valley with the Elbe castles, the Blue Miracle, the Waldschlösschenbrücke, the old town with the Frauenkirche, the vineyards from Radebeul to Meissen and Albrechtsburg – all an unrivaled eye-catcher. And even upstream of the Czech Republic, with Pillnitz Castle, Saxon Switzerland, Königstein Castle and Bastei, there was no shortage on board. A wonderful view.

Unfortunately, there are few mooring options on the entire itinerary and no refueling facilities for the boats. Here the advice of Mr. Küffner from Ochsner was very helpful to have a large tank of 140 liters at the same time. By the way, we calculated an average consumption of 8 liters per hour with our boat.

For us newcomers to the river, even a damaged propeller was not a reason to interrupt our vacation. The Elbe is not very deep and cannot be compared to the Moselle and Rhine. Not unusual at a low tide of 1,8 meters on grassy ground and there were no dams and therefore no locks.

We are looking forward to 2021 and hopefully we will travel the Lake Garda vacation with the DUKE 20 -YACHTLINE-.

Thanks again to the Öchsner team from Kürnach.

With sporty greetings, Rita and Udo!

The 20 YACHTLINE’s sleek and sleek look caught our eye on previous vacations (this boat belongs to a vacation friend). The workmanship and quality are very good and the driving characteristics convinced us. After the first dive and the first trip to the island of Pag we encountered a light storm, where our “Lady” was put to the test so that we could confirm its suitability for rough water.

Among other things, we spent many beautiful days with her on our tours to the Kornati islands.

During this time, we really enjoyed the generous arrangement of our lady, whether we used the converted sunbed or retreated to the cabin for a nap.

So we can say that we are very satisfied with the space and the driving features.

A small drop of regret: the swimming ladder could be a little longer (note from Öchsner-Boats: the swimming ladder was one step longer since the 20/21 season)

My best wishes

Above we have marked “Beginners” once again, because after two boating seasons we don’t necessarily see each other as advanced. Although we can do some things quite well.

But first things first: Last year (our first year on the boat) we had to look for a rental car to get on and off the boat, this time we were able to get our own car: 150 hp diesel, a loaded VW Caddy up to 1,75 T. on an 8% gradient. We needed that too, because when we were out of the water there was a weighing scale in front of the hook and on it was about 30 liters of fuel, an empty water tank, a small equipment, but with a camping helmet…. 1270 kg, plus 400 kg trailer. This made all the planning easier.

The slide went quite well for two people. However, this time it was already early June when we were able to launch the boat.

Now we had a very hot summer ahead of us. So hot that on our multi-day trips, especially on Lake Überlinger See, sometimes we were just sitting in the shade after the boat was anchored. At over 40 degrees, it doesn’t even get cold to swim in the lake …

We usually went out, took a bath and spent our days on the boat.

Of course, it was great, especially for our two eldest grandchildren, who had a lot of fun jumping off the boat into the water, even being the captain.

When they left again, it had to be a trip to the Upper Rhine, which we didn’t want to risk last year due to low water. Doing it on August 1st, the Swiss national holiday, may not have been the best idea. As a result, the already narrow passageway was made even narrower by a hundred Swiss, and a hundred Swiss drove the Upper Rhine in front of and around us with everything that even came close to swimming. But it was always funny!

We got back to our float site and managed to cruise a nice section of the river.

At the beginning of September this season was over.

We are planning a slightly longer tour in 2020, then we will plan a full circuit of Lake Constance with stops in various major harbors.

We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to next season.

After many years of driving pleasure with open sport boats, the desire for a powerboat with cabin and separate toilet for longer trips and vacations arose. The boat still had to be towable and have good and economical driving characteristics.

During a spontaneous visit to Öchsner-Boote in Kürnach, we looked at the 20 -Yachtline and were immediately impressed by the space, design and quality. Thanks to the good, objective advice of Mr. Küffner, we were sure that we had found the right equipment for us and we have never regretted our choice of a great boat.

During numerous trips on the Rhine and Main rivers over several days, we were convinced by the quality and equipment of our boat:

  • bright and spacious cabin
  • lots of storage space
  • high railing for safety on the foredeck
  • water pressure system with aft shower and sink
  • folding center locks

Honda’s 100 HP outboard motor has proven to be the right choice, especially in strong currents on the Rhine. With a reasonable consumption, the engine quickly brings the boat on board. The boat is easy to maneuver and has a steady course in all speed ranges.

Here are a few tips and comments:

Thanks to the dual battery system, we were able to spend two days on board independently and with well-chilled drinks, even without shore power.
the camper top is quickly assembled and offers a good view even when closed; ideally, the passenger side can also be rolled up separately
For multi-day tours it is worth taking a second table with you as this means that the bed in the cabin does not need to be removed.

Thank you to the Öchsner-Boote team for the great advice and detailed instructions when we took delivery of our price performance boat!

After a great first year we are already looking forward to next season.

In 2018 we did the SBF on land and decided to buy a boat. During the extensive research that followed, we became aware of the company Öchsner-Boote. We were soon greeted in a friendly manner. Competent and clear advice was given and we received an offer on the same day.

I slept once and ordered.

Thanks to the absolutely punctual work of the Öchsner-Boote company, we received our boat on a Wednesday in April with detailed instruction, a test drive, many questions and many answers. Then on Friday we drove to Tjeukemeer in the Netherlands, where we rented a holiday home with a dock – that’s how it started.

When we got there, as complete beginners, we first took pictures of all the tension straps, etc., so that a week later we could secure the boat to the trailer again. We were happy to have the help of two Dutch boatmen when we were kayaking for the first time! We also realized our inexperience in assessing the wind and water. On the second trip the wind was very strong and we felt like we were on the high seas. But we still felt safe on the boat.

Now we had time to get to know the boat better. During the installation we were surprised by the really large storage space both above the cabin and in the cabin. We could take everything we needed with us. Later, on half-day trips with two other adults and two children, there was enough space.

Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

We did a few day trips and enjoyed being on the water. We went over the Wannsee quite a bit with the 80 HP engine. The swimming ladder was also used a few times after we cooled down somewhere in a small bay. The boat is really nice!

We spent a few days on the road and on the boat in August and slept great thanks to a coat we made. And it’s not bad to have a toilet on board. We went through the middle of Berlin, got many new impressions and gained experience in the locks. We continued to Köpenick and via the Müggelsee to Fürstenwalde for the children’s birthday party (it was really great that my grandparents came by boat) and to Brandenburg / Havel.

In the summer in Berlin we enjoyed some provisions and cold drinks in the fridge. The boat is great, we have a lot of fun with it.

After 70 hours of work the boat is now in winter storage and waiting for the next season. In the meantime we also did the SBF lake. Now let’s see where we are going. We are looking forward to more beautiful tours and hope that we won’t have to call Mr. Küffner so often because “we still have a question”. Thank you Mr. Küffner!

We feel well looked after by the whole Öchsner team. Thank you for that!

20 The road to YACHTLINE

,

In the middle of 2018 the time had finally come! Bettina and I had left behind many eventful working years and now wanted to devote ourselves to a common hobby that was quite new to us: sailing! In the last few years (decades?!) we had flirted with many boats but were not happy with any of them.

We also managed to accumulate some experience in the past. Starting with Metzeler rubber boats and 5HP outboard and finally with Zodiak and unlicensed 15HP outboard. There were also charters up to 11,5 meters in Sneek, Holland and areas on the plateau of lake Müritz. But this is about boat experience. Various visits to the “Bot” in Düsseldorf and prospectus studies whetted the appetite for all sorts of things, but were also confusing.

So one has to think: What should the boat look like, what technical data and dimensions should it have, what should it be capable of and what price limit should it not exceed?

Our ideas about our own boat

Visually attractive, modern design, 6 to maximum 7 m long, lockable cabin

2-passenger cabin, suitable for overnight stays, most modern, powerful and at the same time economical outboard engine, low overall weight, middle class towing vehicle – passenger car

dimensions that are not towable and required heavy transport permits.

Several boat visits and later test drives, the internet and various test reports finally gave us important information about the boat or the company that could be right for us. A single phone call with Mr. Küffner from the Öchsner-Boote company was enough for us to use the “Basil”.

All in all, it was convincing to visit the exhibition in Kürnach with very competent advice. 20 -Yachtline- fulfilled all the parameters we wanted. And according to the “coincidence”, a 20 -Yachtline- could be freely configured in advance.

At the end of July 2018, actually towards the end of the season, in the special trailer ordered from Öchsner-Boats, there alone in the large salon – the ordered “CARA” stood. After a comprehensive half-day briefing, including the first trip on the Main, we went home with her.

A few days later the first slip in Marina Rünthe harbor on the Datteln-Hamm Canal. It went very well with the support of the harbor master. For two days we tried all the functions, except the electric windlass: Anchoring in the canal is not very good! Everything worked as described and it started to be fun. The engine still had to be run according to specifications, but you can imagine that the 20 -Yachtline with a 100HP Honda engine will move quickly.

Out of the water again and straight to the Moselle in Winnenden next weekend. And indeed, you can stay overnight on this little boat. The upholstered sun lounger in the cabin is enough to stretch your legs.

Soon the practice period was over and we were slowly able to get more and more of our full performance. It was wonderful how quickly the boat started to glide and the banks of the Moselle slowly glided past us. Of course, we also tried “full speed” on the designated Moselle stretches without speed restrictions. We were accompanied by friends with a 6.70m cabin boat and a 140HP outboard. We were all surprised that our little “CARA” could in no way be overtaken by the more powerful boat of the friends.

And then it happened when we were anchored in Cochem. It was windy and the Moselle shook us a lot. Actually when we were anchoring just before the jetty, I wanted to put it in reverse and brake the boat with some throttle. For whatever reason, forward gear engaged and a short throttle boost did the opposite. And Zack, my mistake caused damage to the starboard railing. Damn, that’s annoying!

Must go to Lake Garda in a few days! Fortunately, the damage was mostly limited to the railing. Apart from the railing installation, the hull was not damaged. So the railing was temporarily installed, the boat was out of the water and a few days later we went to “Bella Italia”.

20 on Lake Garda with YACHTLINE

On this long trip to Lake Garda, the boat and trailer “behaved” extremely well and in a complex way. With patient equanimity, the 100 km/h certified trailer chased after our small tow vehicle (Audi A3 Sportback). When permitted and possible, the speedometer hand showed about 100 km/h. However, the thirst of the A3’s small 1.6l / 116PS diesel engine was kept within limits. It only wanted to consume no more than about 8.0 l / 100 km of precious juice. This is also due to the low weight of the boat, engine and trailer.

We rented a rather small apartment in San Felice del Benaco on Lake Garda for 2 weeks. We bought a buoy on Lake Garda for the boat from the Villa al Sol holiday complex. It was a bit awkward to get from the beach to the buoy or the boat. A small rubber dinghy brought for this had to be used. A worthless sight! Less heat sensitive people would have swum safely.

The days were great and the weather was mostly good. We were on the water almost every day and – to the extent allowed – we “circled” Lake Garda several times. Isola del Garda, Salo Bay and places/ports like Sirmione, Bardolino, Moniga del Garda, Desenzano, Peschiera and Garda were our destinations. 20 -Yachtline- did a really good job. Even in strong waves, nothing bothered the wide-beam hull, it always ran exactly in the chosen direction.

In the low speed range, the Honda engine ran extremely smoothly and was really quiet for an outboard. Of course, it rose significantly as the speed increased. He’s not a sailor, it’s a motorboat like him! I can’t tell you much about fuel consumption. After all, this depends very much on individual use and driving style. In any case, it seemed to us that he didn’t want the 140-liter tank to remain empty. Okay then!

20 in Croatia with Yachtline

Next time, we refueled in Fazana, Croatia, the second part of our journey. It is really great to go to the gas station to refuel the boat with premium gasoline, which is not as expensive as in the harbor.

First class gasoline from the nozzle is up and running. The gas station attendant did not immediately see that when the 100 liter indicator on the pump was exceeded, the boat was refueled and received puzzled looks. He looked at me in turn in surprise and then looked again at the little Audi A3.

At the large campsite Plaza Bi Village, we booked a beautiful, brick-built holiday home with a terrace and a small garden for 14 days. Right next to this holiday complex was a small harbor, more of a simple jetty. No chance of slipping, but because of the salt water we wanted to “crane the boat” anyway. A few minutes by car in Pula was professionally done. We were able to park the cars and trailers in the safe harbor area.

From Pula we drove the boat past picturesque bays and islets to the small anchorage just on the edge of Plaza Bi Village near the town of Fazana. A maximum of 6 boats could be tied to each side of the concrete jetty. I wasn’t busy at the time and so our “CARA” lay here most of the time alone or at most in the company of one or two rubber boats.

With a 0.70 m height difference, the transition from deep to high water must be taken into account. So do not connect the lines too short or too long! It worked. Wonderful days at sea followed. Our “CARA” brought us along the coast and the Brijuni National Park with its numerous offshore islands to every port, no matter how narrow, reliably and safely. We saw beautiful places like Rovinj, Vrsar and the long Limski Canal with its mussel banks and oyster farms from a completely different perspective.

From our point of view, the small boat mastered fast stages as well as rough water cruises in a mirrorless sea. There were plenty of secluded coves to anchor in and we learned to really appreciate the onboard electric windlass. When safely anchored, the picnic on board can start with two or three dachshunds. When there was too much sun, the easy-to-use retractable roof helped provide shade and proved to be entirely adequate. We didn’t really try the sun lounger, preferring to just drive the car and explore the area.

Unfortunately at some point the time came to an end. The journey home was approaching. So again the “crane” with the boat, ready for the trip on the trailer for cleaning and mooring. When the boat was lifted out of the water, we saw the very dirty hull. Thanks to the competent and well-equipped harbor team in Pula, it was no problem and after half an hour it was largely cleaned. Then we were able to completely clean the boat from salt water in the car wash area of the holiday complex. The next day followed the long trip to Iserlohn.

Inspection and winter storage at Öchsner-Boats

At the end of October 2018 we took the boat to Oechsner in Kurnach to repair the damage to the railing, inspect it and take it to winter storage. Everything was done professionally and in a friendly manner to our satisfaction.

In April 2019 we took the boat out of winter storage and brought it to our home in Iserlohn. The good part is now less than 2 km from our home. It was placed well and dry in a private single garage. Since then “CARA” has been waiting for new journeys.

For health reasons, we were unable to set off with our “CARA” in 2019. So with a broken heart we decided to give up boating again. With only about 60 hours of work on the counter, fully equipped with all extras, in top condition, we are returning this all-round great boat.

Personal conclusion

All in all, it was a great boating experience. In such a small space, just under 6 meters in length, boats can rarely be so fully equipped with such high quality and comfort. Other advantages from our point of view: Uncomplicated trailerability for frequent changes of travel areas. Parking is easy in a suitable driveway or garage with the appropriate entry height. In conclusion, you should be aware that the boat hobby is costly. Even with a boat length of only 5,95 m and storage on the trailer in a suitable garage.

At the end of May 2018, we took over our eagerly awaited 20 YACHTLINE from Öchsner-Boats. During the handover we received a detailed briefing and during a test drive on Main, Mr. Florian Öchsner gave us valuable tips and advice.

When we arrived in Fußach on Lake Constance, we received the Lake Constance permit for our new boat immediately after an expert had approved it without any problems. So the great adventure was beginning!

With our exquisite boat, which we named “Hygge”, we explored Lake Constance and many beautiful places on several day trips as well as several day trips. We managed to get a guest berth to spend the night in one of the harbors around Lake Constance, which are usually fully booked in summer. In this respect, with our 20 Yachtline we had advantages over larger boats, in addition to relatively easy gliding and trailers.

The 20 Yachtline proved to be very good for our purposes. The spacious, airy and comfortable cabin was great to stay in for a couple of days for two. We also don’t want to miss the convenience of the electric windlass, which makes frequent anchoring in the beautiful bays of Lake Constance much easier. Overall, we are very happy with the space available and the quality of workmanship.

We really enjoyed our trips with “Hygge” to the most beautiful places and places on Lake Constance and are already looking forward to next summer.

Greetings from Lake Constance

With 20 Yachtlines south of Lake Constance

At the Interboot trade fair in Friedrichshafen in 2018, my wife and I first became aware of the Öchsner company and their wonderful boats. Of course there were other interesting boat builders, but after a while we realized that the Yachtline 20 best met our needs.

So we contacted Öchsner-Boote and made an appointment for an on-site consultation and inspection. After talking about possible equipment on the same day, we went back home to sleep on the proposal again. That same week we decided to buy the Yachtline 20.

Our Yachtline was then launched by Mr. Öchsner personally on May 2, 2019. This took place in Altenrhein in Switzerland, on the south shore of Lake Constance, where we also have our port. The instructions were very comprehensive and we immediately felt very safe and comfortable on our new boat.

We had named our Yachtline “Jeanne”. We were spending a lot of time with her. We enjoy every minute with our new boat and are very happy.

Greetings to the whole Öchsner team for always pleasant handling, expert advice and great work on our boat!

Greetings from Switzerland.

Our way to the Öchsner boats

On Pentecost 2018, we discovered our enthusiasm for boating during a houseboat holiday on the lakes of Plauer. In order to enjoy it at home, we needed to have a boat license. After my husband had successfully completed this, we went in search of a boat suitable for “beginners”.

We visited the boat show in Friedrichshafen and got many useful impressions of the various types of boats. We quickly realized the size of boat that was financially feasible for us – this is how we first contacted the company Öchsner-Boote. Mr. Küffner was very patient and willing to provide information right from the start. Our path to our own boat became clearer and clearer.

In January 2019 we visited the boat show in Düsseldorf and again Öchsner-Boote was our favorite company. 20 Yachtline convinced us in terms of workmanship, size and above all price. The contract was signed. In April this year, after a professional briefing by Mr. Öchsner jun, we took over our boat in Kürnach.

Stylish, comfortable and the most affordable boat: 20 YACHTLINE

Although the temperatures were not very favorable, we launched our boat on the Rhine after a few days and got used to the technology and maneuvers. Drop anchor for the first time, try all the switches – the technology works flawlessly and we enjoy a high quality boat.

The kids and we enjoy the Rhine river trips. Anchoring in the shallow shore can be easily done and it is therefore possible to swim with a barbecue on the beach! We look forward to the coming summer days and many more expeditions with 20 YACHTLINE

At this point I would like to thank the whole “Öchsner team”.

Introduction Getting to know each other

After one of us got his or her boating license, the dream of owning our own boat became even stronger. In some places it is possible to rent a boat on your own, but this is quite rare in Rhineland-Palatinate. We wanted to buy our own boat, which we could furnish according to our wishes and get used to.

Then we visited the “Boot” trade fair in Düsseldorf for the first time: as a layman you can get advice, gather tons of information, be impressed and above all set your own priorities.

We were on the lookout for a new boat, an object that you can put together as you wish, according to your desire and your financial means.

It should be a small cabin boat with class C sleeping facilities and a toilet.

It should be towable.

We asked for offers at three stands. At the first hearing we were met with arrogance, at the second with a confusion of information. Then at the Öchsner-boote stand we met someone who simply presented the boat and gave us, as ordinary people, understandable information.

In addition, the “20 -Yachtline-” model has, among other things, the special wide-beam hull, which allows a more generous use of space. It also has a separate room with an optional toilet. And the sporty look of the boat is very appealing.

After a week of deliberation, the decision was made and we bought the boat with a trailer. This was followed by some formalities: radio registration, trailer registration and the knowledge that the BE driving license will have to be obtained in the foreseeable future…

And then the big day arrived: we arrived in Bavaria to pick up the boat. Exciting, because they showed us how to get in and out, gave us a small tasting tour of the Main and gave us invaluable explanations.

After taking the boat to our dock in the port of Trier, we had our first experiences on our vacation days: mooring, spilling, driving a sport lock, anchoring. The water was warm, the swimming was nice … only anchoring in the Saar was really forbidden.

0132UTF-8...

First boat

Finally the time has come. My wife and I had been waiting a long time for a boat license. We researched and compared for a long time until we came across the Öchsner company. A viewing appointment was quickly arranged and what looked good in the pictures of the boat was in reality exactly what we were looking for. A boat that can be towed well for the family to do more and more small and large tours on the Rhine and Main.

We signed the contract the same day. Now all that was missing was the driving license

Shortly afterwards the boat was registered and after the briefing we drove back to Kürnach to take the boat with us. The entire “Öchsner” team can only be praised; the theoretical and practical training was great!

And now, our boat was waiting for its first use. As soon as the tests passed, we launched “Kowi 1” and were ready to go. Due to the extremely low tide we had to tow our boat with a crane. We had great day trips on the Rhine almost every day, exploring the tributaries and anchoring in various places.

20 -Yachtline- is a really great family and entry level boat. The driving behavior is very good, so it is safe to steer even for someone with no previous experience.

And yes, our kids love it….

To be continued….

0132UTF-8...

For years we have been regularly visiting the Interboot in Friedrichshafen. Here the Öchsner boats repeatedly attracted our attention. One time we took a closer look at different models. What was outstanding for us was the attractive design, good, clean workmanship and a good price/performance ratio.

After years of renting boats and repeatedly having difficulties finding boat rental companies where dogs were allowed on board, our boat purchase materialized at the end of 2017. At the beginning of February we had an appointment in Kürnach where the purchase contract for 20 Yachtline was signed.

On April 18th, the day of the boat pick-up in Kürnach had arrived.

After Mr. Küffner’s detailed instruction on the boat, Mr. Florian Öchsner went to the nearby Main, where our boat had slipped, and we completed the instruction trip. Here it had already been shown that the lightweight 20 -Yachtline with the 60HP Honda engine was by no means underpowered. After the boat returned to the trailer, we returned home.

At the beginning of May, the boat was accepted in Sipplingen on Lake Constance. The first landing went very well thanks to the very friendly support of the harbor employee. The boat inspection was given by the inspector and our adventure began.

5 days later we spent our first vacation on our boat on Lake Constance, where our first conversion measures already proved to be very useful, we removed the second single seat and installed a table top instead, which gave us more space in the cockpit (especially for the dogs). As we often spend several days on the boat, a good camper cover was important to us. This is very easy to install and the workmanship is good.

Of course, with the summer of 2018, we had a great start to our first boating season with our own boat, so that we could enjoy wonderful vacation days on Lake Constance.

The layout of the 20 -Yachtline is very suitable for the two of us and our two dogs. There is also plenty of well thought-out storage space. The boat lies calmly in the water and thanks to the hull structure it takes off very quickly even with a 60 HP engine. With 2 people it is no problem to exceed the speed limit of Lake Constance for a short time.

Since we transported the boat all the time, the trailer played an important role, it stood very quietly on the road and the option with twisted cross links stood well. Getting in and out is quite possible, we regularly used the existing harbor crane for the launch.

Last summer we had nice vacations on Lake Constance, where we stayed on the boat completely for several days and also used the boat for day trips.

We are already looking forward to the next season.

Many greetings SH and AR

Our first own boat

How did we get the 20 Yachtline? For years we have often been on Lake Constance in a small holiday apartment, in the first few years we experienced beautiful things as kayakers, but then we had to limit such movements too much with shoulder problems. So we looked for another way to explore Lake Constance, first sailing, then we tried a motor boat.

Since we always had a smaller mobile home, we have been increasingly looking for an alternative over the past few years. We thought about replacing the mobile home with a small boat to see. We also often went on vacation to France with the motorhome and mostly on smaller country roads and almost inevitably along beautiful canals. Going on such an adventure by boat… It’s nice to imagine.

After checking out the many dealers on Lake Constance and realizing that this kind of boat is not that easy to find, we went to search on the internet and visited the “boat” in Düsseldorf to see the models we found. We came across the stand of the Öchsner company and after seeing the 20 -Yachtline, we were surprised that this boat could still be towed with a trailer in the weight budget of a Golf class car (from 1400kg).

The next question arose: how can we dock on Lake Constance and what driver’s license do I need? This was not as easy as expected and it took some time and energy to time all the components until the boat was in the water.

We now have a buoy site at Gaienhofen-Horn, although it was never clear in advance, even with the usual waiting lists, when we would get it? In the spring the news came, hurray, we have a berth. We then ordered our 20 yachts from Öchsner-Boote GmbH & Co. KG.

Boat delivery

The big moment of taking over the boat was slowly approaching, after a few phone calls we found a car rental company in our area and the harbour master of Gaienhofen who helped us with the launch, because there is only one crane there and we as novices were happy to see someone experienced there with them. Then to Würzburg where we had a very exciting day, boat briefing, handover, 1000 questions answered by Mr. Öchsner Junior and Mr. Küffner, it was Mr. Küffner who was there with us with advice on the further course and action.

The first short trip on the Main was an experience, it was great to drive along such a river, see the bank go by and not worry about traffic jams etc. It was great not to worry about traffic jams etc. Then the trip home to Lake Constance went smoothly. When we got there, we shifted the boat ourselves.

Well – theoretically I had the process in my head and had seen it from Mr. Öchsner the day before, so I dared. The feeling of going back to Lake Constance for the first time with such a crew was special, but we managed it, probably not yet ready for TV, but without any wounds on the new boat.

Our Trips

Then we learned the first ascents, all the steps like lowering the buoy in this first year, even the slow ascents to the lake after the harbor area were great experiences for us! What we always liked was that it was not always quiet “out there”, but the feeling of crowds, overcrowded places or traffic jams never arose.

Our float site is on the edge of a nature reserve and on the first evening we were made aware of the romantic paradise. It was quiet both in the evenings and in the mornings, at night you only hear the buzzing of frogs or the chattering of ducks, not to mention the lunar weather… it’s wonderful!

We had a great summer for our first year of boating, hardly any rain, the best weather, which meant we could get in the water around the clock, we never had a bath this year and it was thanks to the swim ladder. No problem for my 81 year old mother to come back on board. We also took two grandchildren from America (aged 4 and 7) on board for a visit, the older one exploded with “I love this little boat” enthusiasm and the younger one fell asleep after wandering around the cabin for some hours in the float area.

In our first year of boating we did many small tours, usually sailing several kilometers on the lake, due to the weather we were able to swim a lot and also practiced anchoring. On our 3-day tour we went from the Konstanz funnel to the main lake, which was a bit adventurous for us. We stayed in Meersburger and Dingelsdorfer Hafen and thanks to the free space on our 20 yacht line we even cooked with our alcohol stove and had breakfast on the boat. It was beautiful days and nights. Despite the many boats around us, the calmness in these two harbors was astonishing for us. Next year we want to intensify these wonderful experiences. In the following years larger tours are planned, such as a circumnavigation of Lake Constance.

Best regards Mrs. and Mr. S.

Boat beginners are enthusiastic

Our first trip took place in May.

We bought our first boat, Leni, right after the driving test, so we wanted to try out the new boat as soon as possible. The excitement was high.

We chose the Danube around Regensburg as a route because we can get there quickly. The 2.28-meter-wide boat is only slightly wider than the tow vehicle, so the trip with the trailer went smoothly.

When we arrived at the Kapfelberg marina, we registered with the harbormaster in charge and launched the boat ourselves with our car. One of us parked the car with the empty trailer, while the second mate stayed on board and set off. Once we were all on board, we made our first trip to Regensburg and were immediately impressed by the boat’s performance. The high freeboard had a positive effect on the swell.

On the way back, we were unexpectedly hit by a rainstorm. We quickly set up the camping awning with side panels, which had never been tried before, and were able to reach our starting point with dry feet, where we easily pulled Leni out of the water.

Our Leni gave us a lot of fun on subsequent excursions. We can spontaneously decide on one or the other boat trip at any time.

The small boat offers plenty of storage space for all kinds of safety equipment and there is plenty of space on board with your friends.

We are very happy with our boat purchase.

Best regards, family U.

Hello, dear Öchsner team,

With our new boat we spent 20 wonderful hours and days on the water around Potsdam and Berlin. The boat is very economical and with its excellent WIDE-LIGHT hull it is a lot of fun to drive.

Our boat is at the marina in Potsdam where we can enjoy and experience beautiful sunsets from May to October.

Buying the boat from you was the right decision. From our first visit to the fair to the professional handover on Main we felt at ease.

Thank you again for that.

On July 29th we received our hairka boat 20 YACHTLINE. The handover took place with a good briefing. We also performed the slip and various driving maneuvers here.

We had a big search for a few years. Now we have decided on a handy 20 YACHTLINE, which was a very good decision because the boat is sportier, agile and very easy to handle. The so-called few 100 HP are completely sufficient and bring the boat on board smoothly within a few meters. The space for 2 people is huge. There is also space for 6 people to have a great time on the water.

This year’s vacation will be in Murter, Croatia. Our journey with the caravan took two days without any problems. After a small stopover we arrived at the campsite in Murter.

The boat, which is about 6 meters long, is extremely easy to handle. Regardless of the speed, it is very stable in the water.

We went on day trips again and stayed overnight on board, during which time we explored the area. The first week we had great weather and anchored in the changing bays around Murter and were able to make full use of the large sun loungers. This allowed us to enjoy the surroundings thanks to our wonderful boat.

The day we left there was a storm and the boat had to get out of the water. It was a bit difficult to slip due to the strong wind, but we made it thanks to the friendly help of the friendly campsite guests. In summary, we are very happy with -Yachtline- and 135 HP, although there are usually 10kmh restrictions in our home waters in Berlin.

Best wishes for the best

Travel Information

Introduction

It was a beautiful day in summer and I was cycling. The road took me along the Ruhr from Kettwig to Werden, past an inn on the other side of the bank. From a distance, I enjoyed the idyllic view of the old walls and the boats lying on the piers.

I remembered our first boat, the wonderful vacations and the joy of boating. I thought of a beautiful piece of land and started to imagine….

Boot 2016 in Düsseldorf

I visited the boot show in January out of sheer curiosity. I got an impression of the many wonderful powerboats and the technical progress made, especially with the drives and engines.

In the afternoon I met the Öchsner-boote stand. The exhibition boats were presented in an anniversary edition and looked stylish. What was striking about all the boats was the hull geometry, which required a special extrusion. The advantages of the WIDE-BEAM hull over a conventional shape were clear, they gave the boats more lateral stability and improved buoyancy.

I liked the little YACHTLINE and the nice, constructive conversation with Mr. Öchsner jr. I was intrigued to have my own boat.

In the coming weeks and months I followed the used boat market until the beginning of September, when Öchsner-Boats offered two Drago 601 WBs for rental. So in October I went to Kürnach for the Öchsner-Boats in-house exhibition to see the boats.

Öchsner-Boats in-house exhibition in Kürnach

I was disappointed that both boats were sold out shortly after the advertisement. That’s when I realized that the Drago 601 WB was in great demand. The dimensions were adequate and the total weight including the trailer was only 1400 kg.

In the exhibition hall there was a YACHTLINE that Öchsner-boote had modified in some details (railing, cleats, upholstery, etc.). Admiring the quality, practical equipment and stylish design, the next day I decided to buy the exhibition boat in addition to the camper cover.

Boot 2017 in Düsseldorf

It was very important to visit the fair, especially since my wife only knew about 20 YACHTLINEs from the brochure. The enthusiasm was enormous and we could hardly wait. Since we still didn’t have the accessories, we took the opportunity and looked around accordingly. But we didn’t want to carry it and apart from a boat hook, I then ordered all the equipment online.

Handover in Kurnach

The time has finally come. On the evening before April 12, 2017 I went to Kürnach. A whole morning was planned for the handover and it started with a theoretical briefing and ended with a test drive on the Main. I received all the information and practical advice on how to handle the boat. Overall, it was a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

The next test drive came with a special surprise for me, so I steered the boat down the river and took off. Without realizing it, the boat was in an airplane – it must be because of the fuselage – I thought. And the outboard engine was pleasantly quiet even at high speeds, which even surpassed my inboard engine at the time.

I left for home around noon with a good memory and great impressions. The team with the Öchsner trailer went really well and gave me a sense of security. My initial doubts about a single-axle trailer had dissipated because I initially wanted to buy a double-axle trailer.

First sea landing in the Ruhr

Actually, we wanted to take the boat to the Ruhr at Easter, but the weather was bad. So we didn’t set off until the beginning of May and forty minutes later we arrived at the slipway in Kettwig. The ramp is long and goes straight into the water, which will be very useful when sliding out later.

Finally, with the boat in the water, after a short ride we reached the pier of the EOC. The long-awaited destination had been reached and there was an indescribable feeling of joy and relief. It had now lasted a beautiful summer and everything was perfect.

There has been no commercial shipping in this part of the Ruhr for a long time. There are only a few excursion ferries from Mühlheim to Baldeneysee. The water quality is excellent and endangered fish species have re-settled, much to the delight of many amateur anglers. The Ruhr and the Baldeneysee serve many people as a local recreation area with many opportunities for active leisure activities

Conclusion

After a good season on the boat in the Ruhr, we gained an invaluable asset in terms of leisure quality with the purchase of the 20 YACHTLINE. Relaxing boat trips on the water provide plenty of relaxation and distract from the stress of everyday life. And it’s easy to stay under the hood even in bad weather. The workmanship and fit of the convertible top is excellent. Rain and wind are kept out and no water gets in. So it remains very comfortable under the hood even on cold days, and the large windows at the rear and on the sides provide a good view from all angles.

Despite the space available, the boat is just as suitable for weekend trips as it is for long vacation trips. Especially since there is an enclosed toilet room where the installation of a portable chemical toilet is recommended and the bunk also offers enough space for two people. The installation of other options, such as a water tank and refrigerator, should be carefully considered depending on the travel space. We opted for the cheaper alternatives – electric pressure flush and portable water jerry cans with coolers – which turned out to be very convenient. Just like the boat, we were also impressed by the 80 HP Honda engine, which develops its thrust in an extremely quiet manner. Thus, the 20 YACHTLINE with excellent driving characteristics and state-of-the-art handling is a successful overall package,

Satisfied with the competent advice and the handover of 20 YACHTLINEs in a pleasant family atmosphere, we feel in good hands here and wish the entire Öchsner-boote team continued success!

0132UTF-8...

The time I spent cycling and canoeing on inland and marine waters, my desire for a vacation grew stronger. But just being on the road with a “charter license” could not be enough, so I had to get a marine license immediately.

What is missing is the experience and routine of dealing with “motorized watercraft” on the wet element. This cannot be achieved even with a one-week yacht charter per year with constantly changing boat models. Two possibilities open to water sports enthusiasts; either charter a boat for a few weeks or more often a year, or buy your own boat.

We decided to buy a boat with a trailer. This very quick decision was followed by a long process of searching for a yacht, weighing it, questioning the decision and of course coordinating the “road tow vehicle” for the team. The important points for us were: a new or young used motorboat with toilet, small galley, 6-7m boat length, good price and performance ratio, outboard for our SUV and overnight accommodation for a weekend including trailer. Pretty simple search criteria actually, but what we have learned is that buying a boat is not like buying a car.

Numerous car dealerships and offers for test drives compare with very few opportunities for boat tours with driving tests. As a result, all that remains is often reading trade magazines, seeking advice from friends and visiting trade fairs and experiencing reports from boat owners. Then the boat builder DRAGO almost inevitably makes the short list. Now all that remains is to find the right dealer for a viewing and test drive.

The first contact with DRAGO was mixed. Our wishes and requirements actually fit the boat very well, but the quality and workmanship of the equipment and the appearance of the material did not convince us. It is good that there is not only one dealer in Germany.

That’s why we wanted to go to the dealer in our region, especially since Öchsner develops and sells your DRAGO boats under the name Yachtline. An appointment was quickly made. Then we experienced what YACHTLINE stands for in the exhibition hall of the Öchsner company and were immediately convinced that the boat layout and weight were correct, it was already clear, now the quality, equipment and workmanship were also appropriate.

On the day of the inspection we decided that the 20-Yachtline should be ours.

Our equipment requirements were discussed with the Öchsner company in various meetings and e-mail communications. Here everyone’s wishes were met in terms of equipment and interior space.

We arrived in Kürnach on a very warm and gloriously beautiful sunny day to deliver our dream boat. After a sleepless night, we underwent intensive training on Mr. Öchsner jun. Main we went through intensive training. It was a great day and then our boat was transferred to the marina in Aschaffenburg.

For the first time we shifted our “Joy” to the Main alone and sailed into the marina to a warm welcome from the harbormaster. Our Joy was now in safe harbor and ready for extensive water tours and getting to know each other over the coming weekends.

After the first season on the Main and a few nights on board, we are still convinced of our choice of equipment, size and workmanship. Our dock neighbors were also positive about -20 YACHTLINE – after a detailed inspection.

This proved time and time again that we made the right decision to buy our boat. We would like to thank the Öchsner company and team for the professional advice and support.

Best wishes for the best

Water sports have been a hobby of ours for a long time and we have owned a cabin boat for a few years. During our 2015 summer vacation in Croatia, a boat of the YACHTLINE series was lying next to us. So we became aware of this manufacturer. As our boat, which we built in ’83, was getting on over the years, we thought about buying a new one. When we came home from vacation, we searched the internet and came across the company Öchsner-Boats. The offer was favorable, we made a spontaneous appointment and went to Kürnach in August. There we received very high-quality advice. Our decision was already made during the tour. It was to be a new 20 YACHTLINE with a 100HP Honda. The size suited us and the overall concept and workmanship convinced us.

13 May The following year we bought our boat in Kürnach -Yachtline-. The handover was carried out by Mr. Florian Öchsner who explained all the details very precisely. After a test drive on the Main, where Mr. Öchsner gave interesting tips, we drove to Thuringia.

On May 15th our boat was named -Yachtline-. We used the next 2 weekends in Bleilochtalsperre to pull the engine back so that we could do a first review before our vacation.

June 19: This was when the first vacation with the new boat in Croatia could begin. Our -Yachtline- had already attracted a lot of attention when it was launched. Unfortunately the weather was not so bad for us this year and so our boat had to stop at the dock for a few days.

In return we could enjoy the beautiful weather twice. We made trips to Rab, circumnavigated Krk and visited Cres. Our yacht line was perfectly maneuverable and with 100 HP at the back there was enough power for driving pleasure.

We were especially lucky for a trip to Glavotok Monastery, where we encountered dolphins that stayed with our boat for about 20 minutes while we were sailing back in the bay in front of Malinska. It was a matter of luck to put this in a photo. Unfortunately after 16 days the vacation was over and we went home.

here you can dive to a depth of 30m, there are rarely currents and as a special feature there is a tunnel through which you can easily dive.

20 YACHTLINE is of course a faithful companion in all our travels.

In October, we were “dragged” to the in-house exhibition at Öchsner by our friends, the proud and satisfied owners of Fiesta 22.

From our point of view, it was really just a trip to “look” – without any intention of buying. Because we already had a great boat.

And there was 20 YACHTLINE (then 601 Wide Beam) in the yard and we immediately fell in love with this boat.

After discussions with Mr. Oechsner, we finally reached an agreement on the purchase price and signed the contract two weeks later.

We then made a series of visits to the Öchsner company. Finally, Mr. Küffner’s statement: “I don’t know what else I can offer you now”.

The boat was taken over in April and after an extensive presentation by Mr. Öchsner jun. Garstadt / brought to our club harbor in Main.

After several trips on Main and a holiday on the island of Rab (Supetarska Draga) we got to know the boat well. We also installed the chart plotter and the marine radio.

Now we are satisfied, the boat is great and in 2017 we had a wonderful holiday on Rab again with our friends Manfred and Isolde. By the way, we have been in this holiday home for many years, it is great to have a quiet house by the sea, a wonderful terrace and direct access to the hotel’s own boat docks.

DAY 1

After a smooth journey, we took the ferry to Rab very early. The turquoise water immediately attracts attention. You immediately get the impression that somehow it looks much clearer and more colorful from the water than it does from land.

After driving the short distance to our accommodation, we moved briefly to our room (100m from the beach and the dock) and wanted to have a look at the local conditions. The ladies on the beach and me on the pier.

We then set off shortly after the Lord and registered our boat. On the second day we put the crane in, so we had a pleasant day on the beach and after an early dinner went straight to bed.

DAY 2

The crane is on standby. As we had never done this before, very soon we were on the crane and we could watch everything for the first time. At the end of the day, you are more and more curious about how it will all end. A few minutes later the boat was in the water and we were on our way.

After a short trip through the canal, we chose the east coast of Pag to familiarize ourselves with the boat and first introduced ourselves to the 20 YACHTLINE. After we quickly felt safe, we went north-west of Rab in the afternoon, looked for a small bay and anchored for the first time. We were surprised how easy it was for us to do everything.

On the way back we saw an Öchsner 29 lying there. (During the vacation we found the owner

also familiar).

In the evening we went to Aco restaurant which was delicious and if you like seafood this is the place for you.

DAY 3

The weather is 35° and there is almost no wind. After our breakfast we start. When we took off, the boatmen approached us to ask us questions about the 20 YACHTLINE. Apparently the boat is one of the darlings of the fair.

After enjoying the northwest so much, we set off in that direction again and circumnavigated the island a bit more. In a bay just for us, I took some great photos of 20 YACHTLINE while the women played and snorkeled.DAY 4

Since we still didn’t know Rab Island, we decided not to take a boat today and go on a land tour. In the north we saw San Marino and Lopar. And the shallow water swimming playground in Lopar is a dream for every child/teenager.

San Marino would also have a nice beach and some shopping opportunities. We didn’t have time here. In the evening we passed an Öchsner Drago 540 looking for a restaurant.

DAY5

Today we are on the road again with the boat we bought. We went out and swam and sunbathed all day.

DAY 6

We had to refuel today as we arrived with only a half full tank. The last time we registered the boat we saw the gas station.

After 9 hours of work 65Ltr. (max. 140 liters) was used (almost 7 liters per hour) so we went to Rab.

Here a nice Drago 22 owner recognized us again and asked us about the new model 20 Yachtline. So far, everyone is enthusiastic about the space available and at first does not believe us that toilets and cellars have been built.

While refueling, we met the owner of 29 YACHTLINE, whom we saw lying in the canal. A really nice family of 5 from Austria. After refueling we head back to the dock after a short afternoon cruise and a short swim.

DAY 7

A pleasant coolness came tonight in the form of rain. Quick check on the boat. Everything is dry. Only the air has cooled down a bit.

The day calms down and we start after a short shopping tour from the northern tip of Pag to Lun. Here, there are one of the largest wild olive trees in the world (some over 1,500 years old) and can be viewed in a botanical reserve. After coffee and ice cream we set off again and drove to the 2 small islands Dolfin and Mali Dolfin and went swimming there.

DAY 8

Today we meet friends who are traveling by boat again. So we looked for a nice place with a total of 3 boats and anchored there. Since we had more children with us, we were able to make good use of all the water toys and the children felt very comfortable in the water. The day went by in a flash.

DAY 9

Everyone slept for a long time on our comfortable and cozy boat.

We also took on board a well-known (non-boater) family with a child (3 years old), but they had never been on a boat themselves. I made a small tour with several stops.

Dinner at Vincenzo’s can be highly recommended. Here the pizza is prepared in the visible stone oven. And from the high terrace you can see what is happening on the water.

DAY 10

Between Dolfin and Mali Dolfin, there’s a very shallow area with easy access. This should be our target today. It is an ideal diving and snorkeling spot with more action, diversity and underwater creatures. In the afternoon we went to Pag again for a coffee and on the beach with the little one.

Tomorrow we fill up another 70 liters, after planning to go completely around Rab.

DAY 11

It’s perfect weather. Everyone is out of bed so we set off at 9.30 am. We drive around Rab and take a short break in Zavratnica Bay. Here you can snorkel in a shipwreck just below the water surface. The ship was sunk in World War II. Now aim for the island of Goli Otok with a full tank. The former prison island can now be easily visited. We are then directed to Sahara Beach (very beautiful and quiet, wide sandy beach. Around 18:00 we are back at the pier.

DAY 12

For the first time, the weather is inconsistently reported. Wait and see, today we only plan for the short term. After a long walk we went to the beach and in the afternoon we went for a walk towards the town of Rab. It is pleasantly cool and fun to wander through the bustling streets. From the water one can climb the stunning tower that serves as a clear identification marker. The view is a dream. Towards evening there is a wide range of entertainment in the city. Live music, various stalls and mobile vendors. Here we head out to have dinner and enjoy the penultimate evening of our cruise vacation.

DAY 13

We anchor in Stara Novalja. Here you can rent jet skis and other water sports equipment in the deep, sheltered bay. The cocktail bar at the end of the bay is also recommended. We started our journey home at 18:30. While eating, last evening we listened to a recommendation and went to the Meslina restaurant (an olive grove where the restaurant is integrated)

Dinner was the perfect end to a wonderful vacation that went by too quickly. It won’t be the last time we eat here, that’s for sure. That evening we started packing in our room. Tomorrow we head home.

DAY 14

Everyone woke up from the boat on a relaxed morning and sat down to a peaceful breakfast. With our boat 20 YACHTLINE, which we bought at the best price, a wonderful vacation was coming to an end,

We thank Öchsner for the beautiful boat and the exemplary instruction.

One thing is certain, we will be back

Yours sincerely

S&L

CONCLUSIONS:

With the equipment and 80HP, the boat is definitely suitable for vacation at sea. The low consumption of 6-7 liters per hour speaks for itself. The space is definitely enough for 2 adults with children and the boat is sufficient even if we have children. We have not missed anything and we are sure that we will spend a lot of time in beautiful corners.

Experience report with Drago 601 WB -YACHTLINE- (NEW 20-YACHTLINE) in Bleilochtalsperre

In May 2016, after long and extensive research both on the internet and while visiting trade fairs, we initially decided on a Öchsner boat of this size. We got an idea about the 601WB during our first visit to Öchsner in spring 2015. The overall concept of this boat is very well thought out and exactly matched our ideas of this type of cabin boat. We previously had a rubber dinghy with a rigid hull and steering position and we quickly realized the limits, especially in terms of ride comfort. And of course the spaciousness…

We received a special offer from Florian Öchsner that met our expectations in detail and as requested.

The day after the boat was delivered, we set off with our children and grandchildren on the largest reservoir in Germany, Bleilochtalsperre, and were able to convince ourselves of the spaciousness and individuality. Driving pleasure was not neglected. With the powerful 80 HP engine from Honda, planning with 6 people (including 2 children) and the necessary luggage was no problem at all. The generous space was a great advantage, which the grandchildren also appreciated.

Meanwhile, our relatives and friends also managed to share this wonderful experience with us.

So far, with the new Drago 601 WB -Yachtline- we are already looking forward to the next boating season and can’t wait for more beautiful trips with this wonderful boat in Germany and other surrounding waters.

After enjoying going on holiday to Croatia for several years, we got our boat license in Kapitano in Crikvenica for our holiday in 2015. When we arrived home, we went looking for the right boat for us. While doing so, we noticed the Öchsner company. And so we drove to Kürnach. When we got there, we looked at the boat and fell in love with 601-Yachtline. It didn’t take us long to decide exactly that. On July 8, 2016 it was finally time.

We went to Kürnach again to pick up our Luna. We got a really understandable briefing about the boat, even for beginners, and then we went straight on a cruise on the Main. First time on our boat

It was fantastic to be able to navigate under the professional guidance of Florian Öchsner.

On July 15th we finally started, 3 weeks in Croatia were waiting for us. When we got there we were able to put our boat directly in the water and then we started. We sailed up and down the Croatian coast in Kvarner Bay. Along the coast of the island of Krk, simply gorgeous. We discovered beautiful beaches and the most beautiful one could only be reached by boat. We had a wonderful vacation and our Luna took us everywhere safely.

The amazing weather and great locations made this vacation unforgettable for us.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Öchsner Boats team again. You are awesome !!!

On April 29, 2016 we were allowed to take over our dream boat with a brand new 601 WB in Kürnach. With the experience we have gained in the water sports industry so far, our ideas were shaped in detail and put into practice with this new boat. The comprehensive and competent boat handover included a trip on the Main as well as clarifying all open questions and necessary formalities.

The following weekend we used the easy towability of our new purchase for a short one-day visit to the Main near Bettingen. The slip went smoothly and a few minutes later our boat was floating in the water. The new Honda BF 100 started immediately and we crossed the bow-like shore of the Main with an easy glide. Thanks to the wide-beam hull, the transition from displacement to glide is almost seamless. Accelerating is really fun. At the end of the day the glide also worked great. It has already been shown how easy the boat is to handle.

The confirmation in Konstanz on Lake Constance also guarantees us the use of this “dream space”.

Our first visit to the “Swabian Sea” took place during the Whitsun holidays. The weather was very cool and rainy and so we learned to really appreciate the high-quality hood.

Daily rallies were held and interesting places like Meersburg, Friedrichshafen or the island of Reichenau were visited. The external dimensions of only 6 m long and 2.3 m wide were very useful in the harbors, we always found a free space for our boat.

We went to Croatia for summer vacation and enjoyed 3 weeks of warm weather, deep blue waters and daily water sports. The boat proved many times its suitability for towing a wakeboarder. Our daughter loved this sport at every opportunity. The installed pressurized water system was gladly used to rinse off the salt water. The swim platform is very easily accessible through the rear hatch.

On calm days we covered long distances of over 100 km, for example visiting the Telašćica National Park and the vast Kornati archipelago. With the typical Adriatic wind and associated waves that occurred in the afternoon, the hull managed to prove its suitability for rough waters and today I can say that we are very satisfied with the running characteristics. The high freeboard of the boat gives us a good feeling of security. To protect our trailer, we used a local crane service to get on and off the ship in Croatia.

Our result after the first season:

With the Drago 601 WB from Öchsner, we acquired an easily towable sports boat that allows us to move quickly between remote areas without any problems. It is as easy to use in the water as on land. The Honda BF100 goes well with it and it received Lake Constance approval without any problems. Despite the manageable length of only 6 m, a spacious, comfortable cabin is available, which also includes a separate toilet room. Separately fitted options such as a built-in fridge, sink, pressurized water and dual battery system offer a level of comfort usually only found on much larger boats.

Time and time again our boat has attracted the attention of other water sports enthusiasts (or wannabe). We were often asked about our experiences in the 601 WB-YACHTLINE-ports or in the bays and we often had visitors who enjoyed sitting on the beautiful leather cushions on board. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Öchsner team for their very good and competent advice and service. Many greetings Daniela and Holger Lötzsch

How a dream comes true

We live just a few minutes walk from the Elbe and the “Kornhaus” excursion restaurant in Dessau (a protected building from the Bauhaus era). We can reach the next port by bike in 5 minutes.

With our retirement and the associated free time, it made sense to put the long-awaited hobby of exploring nature from the shore on a boat into practice.

It was just a small challenge for us as beginners and career changers.

Where do you start to put this into practice? First, on the Internet, which offered a multitude of possibilities and variables, which in the end only confused us. In November we went to “Boot & Fun” in Berlin, where we were able to gather a lot of ideas and information.

The day was almost over and our legs were tired. Many impressions had to be processed and our way home was in sight.

When we left the exhibition halls, we passed the Öchsner stand. The exhibit “601 -YACHTLINE-” caught our attention at first glance.

Florian Öchsner compared the boat to nothing else and was able to convey the details in an understandable way.

We went home with plenty of information and brochures.

Shortly afterwards we received our special offer and the order was placed.

Five months later, on June 3, 2016, it was time.

The handover of the boat was very competent and detailed, from the explanation about the engine, boat and equipment to the test drive, so that we could document the joy in our success from day one and get along well as newcomers to water sports.

The equipment, appearance and handling of the boat as well as the price, performance and use convinced us and did not make us regret this step (into the unknown) for a whole day. We would be happy to report this to our friends and acquaintances and to pass on our positive experiences to anyone interested.

Many thanks to the “Öchsner team”

Martina and Michael L. from Dessau.
