In 2016 we visited the “Boot und Fun” exhibition in Berlin where we found the SR30 YACHTLINE from the BGS Marin family. We liked the boat immediately. We ordered the SR30 YACHTLINE (“Sandrine S”) in April 2017 and were able to take delivery in April 2018. That day was very exciting and informative. After the handover we went with our boat to our marina for the first trip to Brandenburg.

Brandenburg and Potsdam we did small tours in early summer. The comfort and space are great. We recovered and enjoyed our time on board. In the summer, when the weather was nice, we loaded our boat and went to Müritz to spend our annual vacation there.

We explored Müritz and the milled lakes and anchored occasionally. The kids had a lot of fun. Well rested, we returned to our marina.

On May 13, 2020, despite the difficult corona conditions, we took over our new boat Öchsner SRX30 YACHTLINE in Kürnach. The training of the new boat was excellent and despite many years of experience with water sports, we still had things to learn.

After transferring our Pluto to our homeland, we launched it a week later in Emmerich and transferred it from there via the Rhine, the Maas-Waal Canal and the Maas to our new home port “Plasmolen”. The slip worked perfectly with the romanork. The whole structure was very well thought out and the romanork fit the boat perfectly.

Over the next few weeks we set up our Pluto. We were surprised by the space and maneuverability of the boat and got used to it very quickly.

After the lockout against Croatia

We went from Croatia to Porec in mid-June. The crossing with the 3.5 t gun worked perfectly. The vehicle is very good and gives you a safe experience on the road.

We moved to our Porec vacation home and in the next 14 days we explored the whole area of Porec, Vrsar and Limski Canal in a star shape. The inflatable boat with 4 HP outboard motor turned out to be the New feature. We could anchor in the bays and go ashore by rubber dinghy or explore the area. In 14 days the weather was very good and two days we had a sea in the letter summer.

In between we went water skiing or used the tires on the back of the boat. The water ski assistant was very helpful. It can be used to use the speed in advance, as with a cruise control, and the rest is self-driven.

Several times in the evening we went out to sea to watch dolphins. It is an exciting feeling to see these marine mammals so close in the wild. Sometimes we saw several dolphins at the same time and they approached the boat again.

Limski Channel was a mandatory stop. The Vrsar exchange is a narrow bay that goes about 12 km inland from the land. Obelisks rise on either side of the canal and make you feel like you are in Scandinavia. At the end of this “fjord” you can moor to a pier or buoys and go for two nice meals. We also saw dolphins here.

Two weeks have passed so quickly

Heavy rain surprised us on the way back from the party. The highway was under water up to 10 cm. We made it through this monsoon at a decent speed with the boat remaining completely dry from the inside. The hood is made to fit snugly and has 100% protection.

A week after our vacation we brought our SRX30 YACHTLINE to the Netherlands, to our home port “Plasmolen”. Here we made many trips along the Meuse, the Rhine and the IJssel during the summer. We have anchored and spent time in various marinas, but we are always happy when we arrive in our home port. We feel comfortable here and it offers a great atmosphere with many harbor restaurants. In the evening we enjoy the harbor cinema, always accompanied by a glass of wine.

Conclusion

With the BGS Marin SRX30 YACHTLINE we made the right decision. The enormous viewing area and well thought-out technology are excellent. The offshore cruising characteristics are very good and rough water is never a problem for the boat.

We must definitely mention the engine and consumption! The 280 hp Volvo Penta gets the boat on the plane in no time and is very economical. We have never had a boat with such low consumption and we can highly recommend this engine.

All in all, we are very happy with our SRX30 and would choose it again and again. We wish the whole Öchsner team continued success.

After dinner dark clouds rolled in and a storm forced us to close our roof. There were waves of about 2 meters above the buoy as the wind, the only open side of the bay, initially came from the north.Several boats got loose during the storm.We were lucky to follow the recommendations: always tie under the buoy and separately tie a safety line; leave enough space in the boat so that the whole concrete block is not lifted.It is important to always make a jump when encircling boats so that the pull/shake is not too strong in front.

The other days passed calmly.We went south along the coast and enjoyed our spot on SR30. We were treated to some amazing anchoring and mooring maneuvers by boat mates.

When the storms were announced again we wanted to go to a harbor near Korcula but unfortunately we couldn’t find any more space, so we anchored in a sheltered bay. However, this was so full that in the morning as the storm approached we raised the anchor and slowly sailed through the narrowness of Korcula.With the weather not improving, we booked a berth at Marina Mina in Brac.Despite the reservation, the marina was full and we were allowed to anchor ashore.

Despite some mixed weather, we had a very good time on our SR30 YACTHLINE and had many great experiences. In 4 weeks we only anchored in 3 harbors. Otherwise we were on buoys, but mostly anchoring.

During the season we drove 103 hours.Total consumption was 13,8 liters/hour. This is more than the previous year. But we stayed less on the rivers (Neckar at 18km/h). Due to the slightly choppier sea, the engine/trim tabs had to run more often to make the boat calmer in the water. It is more convenient, but requires more fuel.

We no longer want to miss the rubber boat. No matter where we were anchored or buoyed, an exploratory tour on land or in the bay was a must. Eating out in the evening was no problem either. On the rubber dinghy beach, with 10 boats on the beach, you will attract attention with the small but beautiful boat. Depending on the clothes, we drive twice to take all 4 people ashore. With our 6PS, one can also glide comfortably alone.

Summer 2019 travel report with “Daydream”

In the summer of 2019 we started our 4-week vacation in Croatia with our SR30 YACHTLINE, which we named Daydream. Together with Captain Klaus, Smutje Silvana, two sailors Katinka and Antonia and our boat dog Cookie we set off.

We set off with the Mönchengladbach team and after a comfortable journey with an overnight stay in Austria we arrived at the ACI Marina Opatija in Croatia. There our boat was launched by crane and we drove to the city harbor to complete registration and refuel. Everything was now ready for our journey.

Away from the hustle, bustle and mass tourism, we passed small idyllic bays anchored and bathed in wonderful turquoise waters. We were the only ones in one of the numerous bays, which we also used for overnight stays.

Passing through the Velebitski Canal, we were surprised by the scary Bora, so we “escaped” to the small town of Karlobag and spent the time there, passing through the town. Then we went to the island of Pag, known for its delicious cheese. You should definitely try these cozy bars.

After further stops on the islands of Mali Losinj, Ilovik, Olib, Maun and Molat, we anchored in a deserted bay and experienced a violent storm during the night. Our stay in the quiet town of Veli Iz, where a traditional folk festival was celebrated at the time, was particularly nice. Our journey continued with stops in Muline and Ugljan on the island of Zadar. This city with its historic old town is definitely worth a visit. After an extensive shopping tour in this big city, we drove through the unique nature reserve of Kornati. The rocky landscape with its cliffs and groups of bare islands was for us the highlight of the vacation.

Then our next destination was ACI Marina Skradin, where you can take a taxi boat to another nature reserve with breathtaking waterfalls. On the way to this marina we encountered another SR 30 YACTHLINE that was on its “first time”.

We had the most challenging night in an uninhabited bay on the island of Murter. Within minutes a violent storm came up completely unexpectedly and kept us busy for three hours. We all put on our life jackets to be on the safe side. Despite these difficulties, we managed to get through the night without any damage to people or boats.

Over the next few days we received compensation when suddenly a school of dolphins appeared not far from our boat and accompanied us for a while. A spectacular sight!

Last but not least, we had the completely expensive but still beautiful marina in Rovinj. We will remember the old town with its many small streets and cute restaurants as well as the picturesque city harbor for a long time.

After 25 sunny and eventful vacation days in Croatia, “Daydream” was taken out of the water in Opatija and cleaned with great care and professionalism. Now our journey home can begin!

The Rhine has a long and important tradition. Today it is one of the busiest waterways in the world. Our choice of a pier on the Rhine was not only about its proximity to our place of residence. On the contrary, the unique river landscapes and the possibilities for water skiing and various water sports were great experiences for everyone in the family. But I must also admit that after various boating vacations in Italy and Greece, it was a completely new experience for me to travel on inland waters, and especially on the Rhine with the tributaries of the Old Rhine.

Of course, I once traveled by boat on other rivers, through the canals of Venice, on the Grand Canal and under the Rialto Bridge. But being on the Rhine with your own yacht is a completely different feeling. Of course, but not only because you can travel much faster here. 30 knots on the water.

I started with my son from Koblenz, and as soon as we got out of the safety zone we immediately hit the tube. The wind was blowing really well, the spray was drizzling in fine droplets and we couldn’t help but enjoy the new SR30. It was a feeling of freedom. Adrenaline shot through our veins. Simply amazing – an experience.

After a while – we slowed down a bit – we entered the vast network of canals in the Netherlands. At first everything was very easy, but then it quickly narrowed down and I admit: we were a bit overwhelmed.

When after a while the canal was no wider than SR30 and then a bridge appeared, improvisation and organization were required: There was a bridge in front of us that was too low, which became impossible and impossible to step back. So we had to organize people who had to get on the front of the boat so that we could go under the bridge with ballast. It was actually not that difficult. Once we had overcome this obstacle and were back on the Rhine, we rode twists and turns full of joy and enjoyed the tickle in our stomachs.

When we brought our boat back to the harbor and tied up a few days later, we were sure: we want to do it again and again! So we decided it had to be a romantic trip at sunset, and we took a tour of Strasbourg, stopping at one of the small harbors.

The voyage starts on July 31, 2019 with destination Lopar, Rab Island, Croatia

Before we started our three week trip, we spent the first 4 days on day trips around the island of Rab. Our kids absolutely loved it. You can go to Cres island in Kriza bay. From time to time we were accompanied by a family of dolphins, it was so beautiful! In the evenings we could see fallow deer coming ashore, which was a completely different experience.

You can continue to Silba island. In the evening we went ashore by boat and visited Silba of the same name. The 30-minute walk went through a forest. Time stood still here and it is really worth a visit.

We spent the next two days visiting the saltwater lake on the island of Dugi Otok in the Telascica National Park. The road was also very long as we were far behind. Fortunately, a golf cart took us along, much to the delight of the children.

Love at first sight

In 2019, the travel destination for our family vacation was Croatia. We have been traveling to the areas around Istria and Dalmatia since 2011. So far we have always used a holiday apartment as accommodation and organized day water trips with our 4-person boat and 5 HP outboard motor to secluded bays without mass tourism.

But this year had to be different, because we now had a boat where we could also spend the night. We realized our dream with Boot in Düsseldorf, because it was “love at first sight” with the SR30 YACHTLINE from Öchsner Boats.

On July 10, our 21st wedding anniversary, we picked up our “Eternity” in Kürnach. After an informative and detailed briefing by Mr. Öchsner, we set off for home in our trailered boat. When we arrived in Marina Hrmina, we decided to book a hotel for two and a half weeks to be safe After breathtaking daily drives, our vacation turned into one single highlight. We felt free and undisturbed, which was a beautiful feeling. The water world around Murter, the excursions to Kornati National Park and several islands were spectacular. The kids were more impressed each day and enjoyed being pulled behind the boat with a tire on the go.

It’s all about fun or just switch off and enjoy the peace and quiet on the large sun terrace. Exploring the island is also always a must for us. It is wonderful to be so close to nature.

When we returned to the harbor after our day trips, we would boil because we were hungry at sea. With the shore connection and an induction hotplate, we were able to create very simple but local dishes. There is enough space for four people to eat and sit comfortably.

The space saving of the SR30 YACHTLINE is a big advantage. The SUB, water ring, wakeboard and gas grill with 6kg bottle were perfectly stackable and always in order. The two of us and our children aged 10 + 18 were able to distribute ourselves well on the boat and everyone had a corner to themselves. The beds were also big enough to make you feel comfortable.

An inspiring boat: SR30 -YACHTLINE

This year’s boat trip in Croatia took us from Sibenik to Split and from there to the islands of Brac and Hvar. But it was a very special trip for us. Because it was the first time we were going to use our new SR30 YACHTLINE.

When we moved in, we were surprised to see how much storage space there was. Initially, we had small concerns about whether we would be able to put all our belongings, including two bicycles, in its place. But these concerns were completely eliminated once we started using the SR30 YACHTLINE. The further division of the boat also turned out to be very well thought out. So even with more than two people on board the SR30 YACHTLINE, we had no space problems. Everyone could sit comfortably.

The two refrigerators on board prove the spaciousness. One for drinks, the other for other food and very handy.

We were fascinated by the low diesel consumption. We were used to different things and needed only a fraction of what we needed for this year’s trip, which was much longer in terms of route technology.

We were also impressed by the large bathing platform with underwater lighting. Because of its size you can also take a shower here. While the missing hot water boiler initially led to discussions when ordering the SR30 YACHTLINE, we were later able to convince ourselves that in practice this was not necessary and that the water was hot enough for a shower.

In terms of driving behavior, the SR30 YACHTLINE is very easy to handle. It lies calmly in the water. We even managed to get out of a very stormy night without rocking hard.

Starting point

As experienced trailer captains of the Crownline 250cr with a rather high and unfortunately not permissible total weight of 4100kg, we decided to buy another boat after 8 years.

After careful consideration, we looked at boats with trailers up to 2700 kg at the Interboot trade fair in Friedrichshafen 2018. Since our ideal tow vehicle could easily tow 3500kg, many variants in the “towable segment” were possible.

The only important criterion for us was a shelter cabin with a toilet. But because we needed some space, the plan for a smaller boat was canceled after the first day of the fair. Instead, we even included the idea to follow up on a good offer and transport a new twin-engine Bavaria to Croatia. But after many nights of reflection in the Hotel Wasserburg, we decided to call again on the planned second day at the fair. And then it happened as it should have: we canceled our offer for Bavaria on the second day of the fair and then switched to the SR30 YACHTLINE. This was the best boat with enough space for us.

Afterwards I went on board and we made contact with the hitherto unknown Mr. Küffner, who explained to us the improvements that the SR30 offers. After realizing the added value this boat offers us with the possibility of a legal trailer, we immediately made an appointment in Kürnach. There must be something special to see, namely a special model of the SR30: SR30 Panorama with a larger bathroom. The special model SR30 Panorama spent in Kürnach convinced us and with a few tears made us order this boat fully equipped.

Handover

Thus began the 8-month waiting period for the ordered new boat, which was to end in June 2019 with the handover and instruction of Mr. Öchsner.

We combined the handover with the end of our vacation and made a detour via Kürnach on the way back to Cologne. There Mr. Öchsner met us and took us and the new boat for a test drive to a slip on the Main.

We were shown how easy it works to get in and out of this big boat. It was funny that as experienced trailer captains we got a tip or two. You never stop learning. Thank you again for that at this point.

During the short test drive, it became immediately clear what added value the “Öchsner technology” will bring us this year in terms of weight reduction and WideBeam hull. And I am convinced that I made the right decision with a boat in this class. It is a true demonstration of how this boat with the Volvo Penta 280PS engine pushes out of the water and literally lifts up. In addition, there is tremendous lateral stability, which I believe is one of the best in class for a boat with this critical length-to-width ratio. This lateral stability will pay off on the Rhine and IJsselmeer this year.

After taking the boat out of the water again, the ultimate goal was achieved on the calibrated scales. With its trailer and about 50 liters of premium gasoline, the boat fell just under the 3500kg mark. Admittedly without “Pütt and Pan”, but that’s how it was decided. After the papers were finished, we turned on the autobahn towards Cologne.

First trips

After the boat was equipped with all the necessary equipment, we first drove to the gas station in Cologne’s Rheinau harbor. On the way there, my wife told me that this boat no longer lies like our old boat.

In Cologne, the Rhine is surrounded in some places by walls that prevent the waves of commercial shipping from escaping. Here it is not uncommon for uncomfortable cross waves to occur, which our old boat often tilted sideways when gliding. With the WideBeam hull, the situation is different: the boat tilts a little and quickly returns to its place. The average consumption of just 0.8 liters per kilometer shown in the glass cockpit in a smooth glide also put a smile on our faces. Together with the 300-liter tank, which is too big for a boat of this size, we get very large ranges combined with low consumption. This means that the problem of finding a gas station in the future is no longer necessary.

Boat Name

A large number of harbor boaters were present for the opening of the boats in the harbor. Almost all of them were convinced of the quality of the boat and were especially surprised by the universally usable bathing platform with dinghy mount. The fact that a Kölsch box fits exactly on the water bed was another pleasant side effect. The boat’s towability was questioned by many, but after a few Kölschs it was accepted.

Our first trip to Düsseldorf

Our first trip took the Rhine river to the “forbidden city with the dark Altbier” for Cologneans. As expected, the 120 km over the waterway to Düsseldorf was child’s play for crew and boat. The good sailing characteristics were confirmed by the two accompanying sports boat captains. The boat lies extremely well in the water when on board and does not sink astern.

On this trip we also realized how comfortable it is to spend the night on such a spacious boat in this class. There is plenty of storage space for two people and the standing height and freedom of movement is enormous.

Our trip to the Netherlands and IJsselmeer

We made the longest journey of 360 km from Cologne to Lemmer in two very comfortable days. We left Cologne at 11 o’clock to spend the night shortly before Kampen and entered a beautiful harbor in Kissel at 19:00. The next day we drove via Ijissel to IJsselmeer near Kampen and with the best weather and smooth sea we crossed the lock in Lemmer in the morning with a lot of fun. A house with a jetty in Marinapark Lemmer was available to us for three weeks. We used the house as a base and set off in a star shape by boat on many excursions along the IJsselmeer and the canals. Of course we experienced a wide variety of sea conditions and the boat never made us feel unsafe. Even on the Dutch canals with speed restrictions, the SR30 Panorama was great fun to drive.

Decision for a boat with trailer

We took delivery of the SR30 YACHTLINE in April. As home port we found Marina Lässig in Kahl am Main, the last corner of Bavaria, about 25 km from the Frankfurt gates. After our first trips up and down the Main, we went on the “Sauerkrauttour” in Whitsun, via Mainz, Koblenz, Trier, Saarbrücken, Strasbourg and down the Rhine. This classic between inland trips was a lot of fun for us despite the tight time frame of two weeks. We continued to settle in with 3-4 people on the boat. At the end of the tour we were sure that we had made the right choice of boat with the SR30 YACHTLINE.

For us, it was important that the boat was still towable, because due to family ties, every August we take the shortest route of 1,100 km by road to La Rochelle on the French Atlantic coast. Arrival by water is possible, but would easily take six weeks. And who, as a non-retiree, has that much time?

The biggest boat that can be towed – excitement at the weigh-in

Before going to the Atlantic for the first time in August, the question arose for all SR30 YACHTLINE owners whether the boat would exceed the permitted trailer load of 3,500 kg. Our boat is equipped with a diesel engine, electric windlass, camping hood, etc. for the trip. The swimming platform for the dinghy has only just been prepared. The ribs are still missing, but we are already equipped with fenders, sheets, grill and stove, plates, linens and towels, etc.

The scales were later finalized: We came in under 3.5 tons! We also kept the 150 kg nose weight of our Range Rover in the green with intelligent loading. The permissible towing weight could still have taken a few kilograms more.

Arrival on the French Atlantic coast

We had planned the trip over three weeks to make the long journey worthwhile. We estimated 16 hours on the Route Nationale just for the round trip. We probably could have gone 2-3 hours faster on the motorway, but we managed to save money across France. We preferred to invest these savings in diesel and wine stocks.

Surprisingly, you quickly get used to driving almost 3,5 t behind. If you look anxiously in the rearview mirror when there are some bumps in the road, you immediately calm down. The caravan lies as calm as a board on the street. Sure, some tight intersections are annoying. But over time you have the necessary calm and peace of mind for it. Already without an extra exterior mirror we could not see the cars behind us or the traffic jams, and in front of us the streets were wonderfully empty.

Arrival in La Rochelle

We used the boat as a camper van and after a night’s rest, we arrived in La Rochelle with its impressive harbor entrance. This part of the Atlantic coast is a great motoring and cruising area because of the offshore islands. The Regatta Vendée Globe or the Volvo Ocean Race starts here. Accordingly, the ports also have capacity – La Rochelle alone with 4,600 berths! Even in high season, you won’t go empty-handed.

Seaworthiness of the SR30 YACHTLINE

The first trip took us to our cottage in L’Aiguillon s/Mer, just 20 nautical miles north. We managed to fully test the seaworthiness of the SR30 YACHTLINE – through wind (power 6) and waves (2 meters)! The boat withstood all the loads, even on a mostly rough ride. But it was also the only uneasy trip. Because for the rest of the vacation the weather calmed down.

Lying among dolphins at right angles to the current at a depth of 4 meters at the mouth of the Lay River was more troublesome. If in the big ports there are mostly tide-independent pontoon piers, you will often find buoys or dolphins in the small ports of the French Atlantic coast – and you inevitably fall into the silt. After 3 meters this was the case at our place. Thank God we were almost on the same level and the boat did not tilt. So we could spend the days completely on the boat in the “main harbor”.

Trip planning according to the tide schedule

The tide schedule was an integral part of the whole trip planning. After all, we had no water under our keel for about 5 hours. The destination therefore had to be not too far away to be able to anchor there with the same tide. But over time you get used to these “rest periods”. Lines suitable for dolphins should not be missing, unless the owners prepare the place in advance with tires or similar plates. We were lucky that the pier neighbors all went hand in hand and helped with advice, action and material.

Tours along the Atlantic coast

Over the next few days, we made several trips along the coast to Les Sables d’Olonne, on the Ile de Ré, where the picturesque ports of Saint Martin, Ars and La Flotte are located, or simply tied up in a bay for a swim. Unfortunately – as always – time passed too quickly and the end of the vacation and the crane appointment were approaching. As the routine increased, everything went well and after 3 weeks we returned home safe and sound.

The largest towable boat – our result

After the whole touring process we are even more convinced that the SR30 YACHTLINE is the right choice for us. Our initial concern about silting up is not a problem. The ship also handles rough seas with ease. Four people can live on board wonderfully. But all the compromises we made by buying this SR30 have suddenly disappeared. Already today we are looking forward to the next trip!

After three years of research and countless visits to boat shows, the decision to purchase the SR30 YACHTLINE, currently the largest towable boat, was finally made in mid-2018. The SR30 YACHTLINE easily convinced us with its special design, great sense of space and unique solutions of integrated components.

“Smiley” was delivered on time in May 2019. The expert training was given by F. Öchsner and S. Küffner. The journey then first traveled by caravan from Kürnach to our home in Thuringia. Our Ford Ranger coped well with the trailer load of 3.5 tons. After preparing for the first vacation with “Smiley”, a few friends of ours went on their first trip to the Moselle in June 2019.

Since we couldn’t immediately find a slipway, we used the winch system to launch our boat. Everything went smoothly. In 10 days we went from Koblenz to Trier. Due to the very good driving behavior of the SR30, we managed the 8 key points on our way without any problems. Throughout our trip we enjoyed the special and individual features of “Smiley” and were thrilled. Even with our team of 4 people, we never had any problems with the movement sequences and can look back on a successful first trip. It was beautiful!

Since we couldn’t do the slide ourselves yet, we decided to do it at our house in Bleilochstausee. Due to the low water level in the reservoir, getting the boat in was no problem, but it took a little longer to get our face out. So we decided to make it easier next time and bought drive-in aids for the trailer.

The reservoir is not big and offers a little less driving pleasure, but we still had a lot of fun out on the water and experienced a great atmosphere: at that time one of the biggest open-air electronic dance music festivals in Europe was taking place. SMS.

Also on this holiday the SR30 YACHTLINE was appreciated by boat lovers. We answered many questions about this type of trailer boats and got to know a lot of nice people.

The beautiful summer never ended and we had a lot of fun with “Smiley”. That’s why we were pulled out on the water again in early September. This time we decided to cross the Dahme river near Berlin between Teupitz, Bad Saarow and Königs Wusterhausen. Practice makes perfect: this time the gliding process worked perfectly. The SR30 once again demonstrated its outstanding driving behavior on these beautiful waterways, whether in the narrow channel, in the large locks or in the lake between the many sailors.

Our conclusion:

The SR30 YACHTLINE impresses with its handling, comfort and equipment.

We had 65 working hours this season and we are looking forward to a great and comfortable time next year with a smiling face again.☺ ☺ ☺

September 2016, we visited Interboot in Friedrichshafen because we wanted to see the new SR30 YACHTLINE. We already had a Drago 29 with a normal hull, but we wanted to replace the boat with a boat with a wide-beam hull. We therefore immediately liked the SR30 YACHTLINE and so the Drago 29 became an SR30 YACHTLINE.

We took delivery of the boat in March 2017 and first lowered it by crane on the Rhine. We spent many weekends on the boat until the summer holidays and also went on a multi-day trip to Loreley.

During the summer vacation, as every year, there was a three-week vacation in Croatia. We set off in the second week of vacation. Our destination was Jezera on the island of Murter. We docked there by boat and the car and trailer stayed outside the harbor for three weeks. We spent the first two nights in Jezera to get used to it, then the tour started in the direction of Vis.

We visited the blue cave on Vis, a small neighboring island, and then anchored in a wonderful bay for swimming. We spent the night in the port of Vis. There we met a family traveling with a Drago29. We sailed together for the rest of the holiday because we had planned the same route.

Our next stop was Korcula, a beautiful island with great anchorages. Staying in the city of Korcula was a must. But in season you have to reserve a bed there a few days in advance, otherwise you have no chance.

After Korcula we went to Mljet, also a beautiful island, where, thanks to our new friends who already knew their way around, we lounged in the most beautiful bays and spent time in taverns with excellent food.

Finally we went to Dubrovnik where we spent three nights. The city is worth a visit but unfortunately completely crowded. The port was outside the city and we were happy to make ourselves comfortable on our SR30 in the evening. Then the trip was back again. We started in Mljet bay just after Dubrovnik because the weather changed.

The last stopover on the way back before we ended our vacation in Jezera was Solta. Three weeks round trip with our SR30 was a complete success and we had a lot of fun.

New boat

In the spring we received our new boat, the SR30 YACHTLINE, from Öchsner-boote GmbH & Co. KG. We already had an Öchsner boat so we knew what to expect. The briefing was very detailed and fun. Time seemed to fly by.

Immediately afterwards we named our boat with Neptune and the mermaids on the Neckar. They wished us all the best and sent us off. The first big trip took us to the Baltic Sea around Rügen in Whitsun. The crane entered the water without any problems.

We quickly settled into the boat. Everyone found their new normal place. Eating with 4 people in the cockpit was not complicated, it was very comfortable. For cooking I built a small table over the refrigerator compartment in the cockpit, where we cook the “smellier” food. Downstairs in the kitchen we cook pasta, rice, etc. Eating in the open air is a great experience.

Pentecost in the Baltic Sea

Due to the many fairways and the speed limit, we drove slowly most of the time and enjoyed nature at about 10 km / h. We tested the sunspots for the first time and fell asleep right there. We only went fast for longer distances. The second week we were in Sassnitz. Here we wanted to refuel and had to pay a small service charge in addition to the normal fuel price, which was completely unknown to us. In any case, we were happy to use diesel, as there are not many gas stations in Rügen.

About the data: We drove 40,5 hours on the Baltic Sea and used 205L of diesel. This makes an average of 5L/h.

On the way back from Sassnitz we encountered some problematic water. The crew had to hold on to the 1.5 to 2 m high waves. But it was no problem for the boat. The refrigerator, kitchen cabinets and doors remained closed. Unfortunately no one took any photos here.

Summer vacation in Croatia

Traveling by caravan was calm and relaxing. We had a Ford Ranger, which we raised to 6.7 tons gross vehicle weight. So we were able to load the car to the brim with luggage. Before leaving I went to a company again and weighed the team. Here it was verified, everything is completely legal.

Biograd na Moru

After Croatia we drove to Biograd na Moru without overnight stays, traffic jams and breakdowns. The cranes at the marina went smoothly and quickly and professionally. The boat was already in the water. Since the tank was as good as empty, filling it up and meeting our friend was the first goal of the day. After the charter boats all wanted to go to the gas station on Fridays, we ran to Murter island to arrive a little faster than the two gas stations. Our tactic worked. We started Otok Ist with about 320L of diesel and for the first 5 days we did not go to any port.

Rab

Week 2 we visited friends on the island of Rab and met another wonderful SR30 YACHTLINE, with whom we had a short chat on the way.

In Rab we anchored in a different restaurant every evening. After returning to Cres, Krk and Goli Otok, we also had a few quiet days for swimming. Soon we were towed to our next destination. From Rab we stopped in Havar, where we saw the 16th largest private yacht. Outside Hvar there was a small harbor where we stayed overnight.

Trogir

So we started at sunrise, the sea was calm and peaceful. Our destination was Trogir. Since we started without breakfast, we anchored in the blue lagoon before the excursion boats arrived and enjoyed our breakfast. In Trogir we anchored opposite the main quay wall. After the storm hit here too, we decided to “move” to the city of Marina. A noisy but safe night was waiting for us. The next day we left for Biograd and made another stop in Tribunj, where we again met an SR30 -Yachtline-. We decided to go to Zirje for one more night. When the holidays were over, we left anyway and headed for Biograd. Three weeks went by so fast that we couldn’t even go water skiing. The cyclone went very well. No problems even in the light waves.

In Croatia we drove 67,1 hours with 834 liters, resulting in an average consumption of 12,4 L/hour. You can clearly see that the distances you traveled are significantly higher than in the Baltic Sea. The crane in Biograd was done quickly and without incident. Croatian “no problems” took place here.

SR30 YACHTLINE is the perfect size boat for 4 people. Even the children said that the vacation was less stressful than with a vacation home and bed. The dinghy is worth its weight in gold. Start the engine, get in and go to the next restaurant, have a delicious meal and back to the boat. During the day drop a “man” off in front of a harbor and send him shopping and in the meantime drag yourself out to sea on the SR30 -Yachtline-. Just take a country walk in the bays or explore the area. It’s fast and easy to use and highly recommended. The berthing area on the bow is used even when planing. The large swimming platform is ideal for children. You can jump on the boat without constantly splashing water. All in all a great boat.

Now our boat is in winter storage and we can’t wait to sail again. The next vacations are already planned.

In May 2018, after a detailed briefing by Florian Öchsner, we received our boat “Mutlu”. Everything was perfectly prepared to ensure a smooth transfer by caravan to our berth at the Baden-Baden marina.

The weight was kept under 3.5 tons as promised. Despite its large dimensions, the boat was easily towed with a trailer. The first driving trials, especially the docking and berthing maneuvers, were exciting, but inspiring thanks to the helpful club colleagues and the flawless handling of the boat. By the way, the reactions of some “spectators” who could not believe that such a big boat could actually be towed with a trailer were also very nice, but we have photographic proof of the weigh-in result.

The size of the boat is great and the SR30 YACHTLINE is unique in its size. This was also confirmed with admiration by numerous guests who were knowledgeable about water sports when we received the vessel. Apart from the excellent workmanship and quality of the built-in parts, some cleverly detailed solutions make the difference, such as the various rear seats that can be quickly converted into sleeping space.

With over 70 hours of work, 6 weeks of vacation and several (extended) weekends, we got to know the boat from scratch. Although 2018 is the summer of the century, we are still satisfied. Above all the factory-installed heating system, which does a good job even at night in May, but also ensures a successful week off in the fall. Now a word about the driving characteristics: There is boundless enthusiasm when it comes to planning. Acceleration, speed, cornering behavior and “directional balance” are exemplary, as is the low fuel consumption. Perfect for a waterway like the Sea and the Rhine.

Conclusion

Our result after the first season: The SR30 YACHTLINE is a premium quality, well-designed, stylish boat with excellent handling characteristics and plenty of space. The price/performance ratio is great, so for us there is no boat of this size that even comes close to the Öchsner SR30 YACHTLINE. In addition, there is friendly and competent advice and support from the Öchsner family and Mr. Küffner.

To summarize: You must buy this wonderful boat!

When I finally saw you again, another year had passed and unfortunately the season was over; the boat was ashore again.

Since the weather this summer was absolutely “boat-friendly”, we were able to make plenty of use of our gemstone.
Whether it was the view from our boat anchored in Wannsee, where we used the comfortable seating area and the large swimming platform as a place to relax, or the many short trips to the Wannsee lido with bathing pleasure. Likewise, we had excursions on the surrounding canals with stops at various lakeside restaurants and restful nights in the boat’s comfortable, spacious sleeping cabins.

We cannot highlight any one event, because staying on our boat has always been a great moment for us and we would buy her again as she is, because the SR30 YACHTLINE is the right size for us, easy to maneuver and most importantly we love her too.

Our dream

After several weekend trips to the Maas lakes, it was time for our two-week vacation with “Daydream”. With Captain Klaus, Smutje Silvana, two sailors Katinka and Antonia and our boat dog Cookie, we set off on board the SR30 YACHTLINE. We started from our home port in Roermond, Marina Oolderhuuske. Our first stop was in the small town of Hanssum. There we set up our rubber dinghy and towed it to the swimming platform with an electric winch.
The next morning we made a shopping stop in Venlo and in the evening we anchored for the first time in beautiful nature in Leukermeer. Two sailors took Cookie and our rubber dinghy ashore for a walk. On Sunday we drove a little over the Waal (Rhine River in the Netherlands) to Nijmegen and stayed there in the city harbor.
In the evening we were visited by the captain’s sister and her husband. The two saw our flashy boat SR30 YACHTLINE for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. Then we had a good time on our “Daydream” with wine and tapas. On Monday morning we continued on a fast trip to Utrecht via Waal, passing large container ships. We had breakfast in a cozy little marina in Wijk bij Duurstede. We continued via Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal all the way to the city port of Utrecht. To get to this we quickly turned the roof to the lowest position so that we could pass under the last fixed bridge. For dinner we took a rubber boat through the canals of Utrecht.

Amsterdam

On Tuesday morning we left Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal near Breukelen and drove to the nature reserve Nieuwkoopse Plassen. After crossing at 60 km / h on the Waal two days earlier, only a top speed of 6 km / h allowed us to enjoy nature in comfort.
We spent the night in the great outdoors in a meadow with many cows just before Katwijk. On Wednesday morning, we fortified ourselves after a walk with a big kippeling on the Katwijk beach and then set off for Amsterdam.

IJsselmeer

In the second largest port in the Netherlands, we sailed past container ships and the MSC Magnifica. After a stroll through the town, the next highlight of the vacation followed. The journey to Lelystad via IJsselmeer. We mastered the challenging ride with our boat without any problems. The next day started with a visit to a historic sailing ship in the direction of Meppel, where two sailors Katinka and Antonia disembarked and went on a week-long riding vacation.

Retreat in the National Park

For two + boat dog Cookie, this sunny Saturday went as far as Kampen before. The next morning we were sailing at an average speed of 40 km/h on the IJssel, which had the lowest water level since records began. Due to the dry harbor basin, we made a short stop in Arnhem that day to Wijk bij Duurstede, 150 km further back. The next night we had a complete retreat in De Biesbosch National Park. Other stops on the way back to the port of Oolderhuuske were Heusden and Cuijk.

600 km across the Netherlands

A wonderful vacation with the wonderful boat SR30 YACHTLINE came to an end. In total we traveled about 600 km across the Netherlands. With our boat we were able to cross the narrowest canals, under the lowest bridges, over the challenging IJsselmeer and through the busy Waal without any problems.

We are already looking forward to our next vacation with the perfect SR30 YACHTLINE.

In June 2017 we ordered the SR30 YACHTLINE and couldn’t wait to receive it. In April this year the time had finally come. After a day of training by Öchsner, we set off to take our boat home. Since we don’t live that far from Kürnach, the very long boat ride home was quite comfortable. It is about a 15 minute drive from home to our marina in Garstadt and we can therefore easily use the boat for excursions.

In order to get to know how to use the boat better before our planned summer vacation in Croatia, we took our two children on a first trip on the Main during the Whitsun holidays. After the first night in our home marina, we set off for Mainstockheim. On the way there we were allowed to pass three key points.

We spent the first night in Mainstockheim Marina. The next morning we passed Kitzingen, where we had to pass through the next lock in the direction of Ochsenfurt. After the lock there was a beautiful bay where you could go swimming. After the swimming fun, the excursion took us to Ochsenfurt via Marktbreit, where there was another lock.

The marina in Ochsenfurt was not far from the old town and the shops were close by. After a short jump in the water, the journey continued towards Eibelstadt. There was also a gas station at the marina. Nearby there is a restaurant with a beer garden where you can enjoy good Franconian cuisine.

We got on very well with the SR30 YACHTLINE this week. We were absolutely convinced by the comfort and spaciousness of our new boat. With the purchase of our price-performance boat SR30 YACHTLINE we made the right decision and can recommend it to others.

Our exciting journey in August started with the SR30 YACHTLINE, which we took delivery of in April this year. In June, we set off for our summer vacation in Croatia with our 1-week test tour in Main.

Arrival at the Lord

As the trip was too long for us in one piece, we used the boat for one night to sleep in the rest area. This allowed us to comfortably approach the rest of the way to the ferry.

Thanks to a smooth ferry crossing, we finally arrived on Rab Island. Although we had no reservation, we were immediately allocated a space at the Lopar marina and the boat was launched by crane the same day. We were so relieved and happy to finally be allowed to move into our houseboat for the next three weeks.

We spent our first nights in and around Lopar. Once we had adequately equipped the boat with food, water and electricity, we started our personal adventure. We have to admit that it was strange at first, because we just set off and didn’t know where we were going in the evening.

Obrovac

Our tour started along the mainland towards Obrovac. This small place had previously been recommended to us by other guests from Lopar. The distance was too far for us for one day, so we stayed one night in Novigrad. The next day it continued. Since you have to cross a very low bridge in Obrovac, our adjustable roof was worth “gold”.

Vlasici – Pag island

The nature around the canyon was absolutely mesmerizing and jumping from the waterfall was a real experience. Then we spent the night in a picturesque cove in Vlasici on the island of Pag. We can highly recommend the adjacent restaurant. The next day we drove to Zadar, well rested.

Zadar

We refueled here and then explored the old town. The old buildings and small streets are very impressive. In the evenings the city comes alive and the streets are filled with artists and visitors from all over the world.

Pasman Island

Since we were traveling with two children, it was very important for us to bathe again and again to keep them happy. We are on Sv. Pasman Island, which is very sheltered and also a beautiful bay. Here we anchored for the first time on a buoy and spent the night here. Then we came to Pirovac in ACI Marina as our refrigerators needed to be refilled.

Zirje Island

After another day of swimming in Potkucina Bay on Kakan Island, we reached our main destination, the Krka waterfalls. You can take the SR30 YACHTLINE to Skradin marina to change to a boat that will take you to the national park. We were all excited by this natural landscape and cooling off under the waterfalls was inevitable. As we didn’t want to spend the night in Skradin, we went to ACI Marina to stay in Vodice for the evening. Here we also bought our ticket for the Kornati archipelago, because the next day we wanted to stop for a swim in Stupica bay on the island of Zirje.

Arrival in Germany

After almost four weeks of beautiful weather, turquoise blue water and countless experiences, the journey home was extremely difficult. As a family of 4, we had enough space on board the SR30 YACHTLINE with its spacious comfort area and were able to enjoy our vacation to the fullest. We are already looking forward to our next vacation, which will definitely take place again in Croatia.

Hello everyone!

I want to tell you about our trip to Heligoland. There were five of us on board, my parents, my sister and a boat instructor. We sailed with our boat “KarMaViDa” (SR30 YACHTLINE). The brave journey started on August 22, 2017 with a wind force from 3 to 4 on August 22, 2017. It went from Tönning via Eider via the Eider Dam to the North Sea.

Our friends with a 6 meter boat first followed us out to sea. But then they had to turn back because of the waves. When we could no longer see land, bigger waves came our way. But we stayed strong and our boat brought us safely to Heligoland.

As soon as we arrived in the harbor, the next problem continued. Where should we dock? It was difficult to find a place as most of the sailboats were in a parcel. After a while we found what we were looking for and started a small discovery tour. The next day started with breakfast on the beach. It continued with a tour around the whole island. Meanwhile, my sister decided to go back to the mainland.

So there were only four of us at 16:00 p.m. This time the sea was much calmer, so we could sunbathe even in the back seat and only the boat instructor had to drive.

Later that evening we returned to the harbor of Tönning. But the fall came earlier than expected. We tried to enter the harbor somehow through the tidal creek.

We saw a police boat. He instructed us that we could moor to a cruise ship. So we passed the tide comfortably and ended our beautiful trip.

Our boat now found its place in the harbor of Rheinau. And the whole family is happy to be able to take the best-priced boat SR30 YACHTLINE every time again.

Until the summer vacation we spent many weekends on the boat and also went on a multi-day trip to Loreley.

The last stopover on the way back before we ended our vacation in Jezera was Solta.

The three-week round trip with our comfortable SR30 YACHTLINE was a complete success and we had a lot of fun.

The main priority at the time was to start your own company, both in terms of fun and finance. Together we got our sports boat license (on land since 1980) in August 2016. We found what we wanted at the Friedrichshafen Fair and in September we signed the contract in Kürnach for the purchase of an SR30 YACHTLINE with Volvo Penta D3-220 DPS.

The time until the handover on time in May was endless.

Messrs. Küffner and Florian Öchsner (in Main), the trailer arrived home after 300km without any problems.

The first watering took place at the Kirschke marina in Alsleben (Saale).

Our first grand tour with an overnight stay on the SR30 YACHTLINE was from Saale through 3 locks on the Elbe (no problems) to Schönebeck.

Due to the low water and little driving experience on the Elbe, after a happy return, we replaced the slightly chipped screw with a new one thanks to Mr. Küffner.

The first helmsman, grandson Moritz, was very happy to take over the helm.

We started our 8-day annual vacation in mid-July at Langenargen on Lake Constance, which – to say in advance – is a great boating area. After spending the night on the boat in the parking area, the next day was watering and boat acceptance – Lake Constance confirmation.

This was followed by a swim in the crystal clear Lake Constance and a short trip to Lindau.

2 nights with 4 adults, 2 children and a boat dog went smoothly, also due to the camping cover. After checking in the 4 family members, we proceeded on the starboard side of Europe’s third largest inland waterway. Starting in Constance, then after the Swiss Romanshorn and the Austrian Hard, we anchored in Lindau for an overnight stay and free, cheap beds.

In the following days we sailed back to Langenargen, which was made ready for travel after the SR30 YACHTLINE was lifted. We enjoyed ourselves at our favorite Italian restaurant in the marina and reviewed the week.

Good weather, friendly harbor masters, new perspectives from the ship, reliable, extremely economical and – if you want – fast boat, good food and drink. After about 8 hours and about 600 km, one of our most beautiful vacations in the last decades ended the next day.

At the beginning of August we moved our boat to Marina Ringel in Töplitz on the great Zernsee. This is also a very nice area with travel options to almost all of Germany and Europe. Here we made several trips with the SR30 YACHTLINE to Potsdam and the surrounding area.

Summary: With the SR30 YACHTLINE the Öchsner company offers a very well thought out, easy to handle, economical and towable boat. It has a reasonable space, many practical solutions like “Chill and Go” and is so economical that it sometimes hurts (diesel consumption = weight). As beginners, we got on very well in our first boating season and would like to thank all the staff at Öchsner. We are already looking forward to the start of the new boating season.

Last year we decided to buy our own boat. We also visited the Interboot in Friedrichshafen and quickly realized that the trailerable boats there were too small for our imagination.

We ended up at Öchsner’s booth, where the new SR30 YACHTLINE was on display. The boat was much bigger and more spectacular than we had ever seen on competitors’ trailerable boats.

At the next Kürnach fair, we ordered the new SR30 YACHTLINE and a matching trailer.
On July 28, Öchsner delivered our SR30 YACHTLINE to us under the name Felicitas. We drove to Kürnach and enjoyed a day of theoretical and practical training. At this point, we would like to thank the company again for the timely delivery and very good briefing, as well as for the journey and the attention on the Main despite the flooding.

In the evening the SR30 YACHTLINE including trailer was weighed and we easily fell under the 3.5 ton limit, as promised by Öchsner.

The journey home then drifted comfortably into the night. The crane appointment was the next morning at around 10 a.m. in Uhldingen on the shores of Lake Constance. And the first launch! We were thrilled to see Öchsner follow all his tips and advice.

A great boat that stays very well in the water. Thanks to the WIDE-BEAM hull it makes for a quiet night even if the sea is a bit choppy.

We then enjoyed the rest of the season on the boat almost every weekend, sometimes as just a couple, sometimes as a group of four. We always stayed on the boat, which turned into a very pleasant yachting trip thanks to the separate cabin of the SR30 YACHTLINE. Staying on the boat with 4 people is absolutely no problem and everyone could find their place comfortably.

The engine power of the Volvo Penta V6 280 DPS is more than enough for Lake Constance. We decided on the bigger engine only because of our vacation in Croatia. Felicitas did not disappoint us except for some small things that we were able to fix ourselves in the first season. The build quality of the boat is very good. The winter is almost over and now it ended on April 1st. Felicitas is finally back in her own sea.
