Delivery of the Drago 29 WB at the Port of Schierstein on April 2, 2015

We met Florian Öchsner at 09.00 on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Then we went to the ramp in the harbor of Schierstein in misty weather and fresh wind. First we built the very functional and well thought out fabric roof, followed by the first landing of the boat, including the ascent into the Rhine. As the new owner I had to drive the boat myself (Mr. Öchsner helped in the comments). So we carefully set off from the harbor towards the Rhine towards Rüdesheim. Waves of around 50-70 cm were waiting for us. Wave height and good (side) wind. But the Drago 29 ran as if it was on rails and slowly dived into the waves.

The driving characteristics impressed me from the first moment.

When I took delivery of the boat, I was a beginner with a boat of this size, but I got along well with the boat from the start. Also, some of my boat mates, whom I didn’t know at the time, gave me a lot of (practical) tips.

Tied to the pier, there was an intensive briefing on the functions of the Drago 29 WB.

Towards late afternoon, Mr. Öchsner returned to Würzburg after a small glass of champagne. We, one of our sons, a friend and I sat around the table in the rear seating group, in the seat behind the driver’s seat, and tried to prepare for the last few hours.

In practice, the Drago 29 is WIDE RAYED:

This was followed by several trips on the Rhine in April. The boat showed its power. The Volvo Penta D3 – 220 HP is an excellent / powerful engine with low consumption.

From May 2 to May 14, 2015 I went on a tour from Wiesbaden to Luxembourg with one of our 6 children. There was a mixture of rainy weather, sunshine, everything was there. First of all, there was high water on the Moselle and on the way back there was high water on both the Moselle and the Rhine. Here the engine showed what it could do.

By the way, Drago has 110 engine hours per hour. Slowly a very nice boat trip is coming to an end. This year we had many stays in other harbors and bays with good conversations / contacts with other boat owners.

The boat’s WIDE-BEAM hull lives up to its purpose if you make practical use of it. I have never seen such a well designed, balanced, well running boat.

By the way my wife who was very skeptical about the boat was very impressed with the Drago 29 WB. For 2016 she is even planning a family vacation.

Travel information

On recommendation to Kürnach

We were looking for a bigger boat to stay on weekends and vacations. On recommendation, we went to Kürnach in June 2018 to look at 29 YACHTLINE. We liked it so much that we even signed the sales contract on the way home.

29 YACHTLINE Collection

On April 10, 2019 the time finally came and we were able to pick up our Daisy. Despite the very cold weather we had a great introductory trip with Florian Öchsner. We loved the way the boat was handled and its power.

Then we took Daisy to Senheim, our home port on the Moselle. And of course we spent the night on our new boat, despite the freezing cold.

Vacation on the Moselle

After a few small tours, we went on vacation on July 20, 2019. We went on a tour called sauerkraut with our friends and their boat.

For two weeks, full of provisions and luggage, we traveled from the Moselle to Konz, then back to Senheim via the Saar, the Saar Canal, the Rhine-Marne Canal and the French Moselle.

To cope with this route we had to drive from morning until evening, which allowed us to get completely used to our boat. And after almost 100 locks we are now absolute lock experts.

Fuel consumption was also very moderate. In November 2019 we brought our Daisy to the Öchsner company for inspection and were then given a larger swim platform. Now it is perfect.

Conclusion

29 YACHTLINE was the right decision to buy such a great boat. It is just the right boat for us. It offers enough space so the four of us can live on it comfortably. So we can’t wait for the new boating season to start in April.

The road to a new boat

From the first contact with the Öchsner Boot company in late autumn 2018 to the very good consultations, the implementation of our special wishes and the on-time delivery in July 2019 with detailed explanations and a briefing trip, everything was perfect.

The caravan journey from Kürnach to Niederbayern on the Danube went as smoothly as our first slip.

29 YACHTLINE in the Baltic Sea!

After about 15 hours of work we got the boat out of the water and headed for the Baltic Sea. Here we spent three wonderful weeks on the boat and got to know and appreciate it in a wide variety of weather conditions. First customer service At the end of the vacation, we contacted the Öchsner company at short notice to have the upcoming 50-hour inspection done. And again: good conversation, binding answers. It was already expected when we arrived in Kürnach the next day. This was followed by a detailed discussion of the upcoming activities. We were also able to take away some good tips for the future.

29 -Yachtline- really got on well with us and we were absolutely convinced by the comfort and space of our new boat. We did everything right with the purchase of this boat and can recommend it to others.

We spent the first summer on the beautiful Lake Constance and had more fun than ever. In total, we were on the water for about 70 hours and only had to refuel 3 times, so you rarely find fun with such an economical boat.

Hello, dear Öchsner team,

In April we bought our dream boat 29 Yachtline and brought it straight to the Danube, where we have a permanent berth. In the summer we went on our first big vacation to Croatia with our new boat. The trip went smoothly, we were able to take advantage of our 100 km permit. Thanks to our Doge Ram who had no problems with loading.

When we arrived in Punat, the 29 Yachtline was safely launched and our vacation started with our son and two dogs!

During the three weeks of our voyage there were submarine bunkers and sunken ship tails and many new islands that unfortunately we could not explore with our old 6 meter boat.

Our journey went from Punat to Split, where we mastered everything from sunshine to violent storms. In Vodice we met Hubert & Gudrun, 29, where we spent 2 beautiful days.

In the end, we are very happy to have a big boat with plenty of space for our son to play, no dogs lying around and easy to transport even in bad weather.

After three weeks of summer vacation, we brought our 29 YACHTLINE safely back to the nearby Danube River. Where we spent beautiful warm autumn days.

Conclusion: 29 -Yachtline- is a very successful boat, an absolute miracle of space in this boat class, beautiful design, very elegant and perfect in every way. Exactly the right boat for us, towable, huge, with lots of space for the family to have a great time. I would say the right choice of boat.

I accompanied to Croatia and it was a lot of fun.

In August 2017 we went to Biograd with a trailer and a boat, and as with the old boat in Marina Kornati (with an almost empty tank), we loaded it with a crane, then refueled it and spent a night there. From there we went to Dubrovnik, about 420 km. 3 days at the ACI marina, this is a little outside Dubrovnik, in a very good location, a little bit off the road but no problem with the bus so we had no problem.

Then we took the mountain train to Brdo Srd, the local mountain of Dubrovnik, a magnificent panoramic view and we were allowed to admire the sunset in a way that can never be described! Must have seen it, simply amazing!

For the rest of the 3 week vacation, we then drove slowly back to Biograd, where we were then in Kordula, Lumbada, Hvar, Vodice, Split, Trogir and Solina bay on the island of Pasman for another 2 days. We also stayed in other small bays until we returned to our starting point in Biograd. From there we unfortunately drove back home.

The penultimate day we again had to drive about 5 hours to run the diesel almost empty, according to the plotter we covered 1204 kilometers and used only 625 liters of diesel, we have never had a boat as economical and fun as 29 YACHTLINE.

From Ludwigshafen in May, when the weather was still cool, we set off on Friday afternoon (with a full diesel tank of about 350 liters) and continued towards Baden-Baden.

There we were very well received as guest boaters. Thanks to the quick support with the mooring maneuver, we managed to discover a separate, particularly remarkable sanitary area next to the restaurant.

We spent a very nice evening at this dock.

On Saturday we went through the big Iffezheim lock, it was very easy. After the meeting with the very nice lock master, he asked us to wait for the freighter and the cruise ship, after which we were allowed to hold on to the floating bollard and were directed to the mountain. We were lucky with the 2nd Gambsheim lock and were immediately directed to Berg and then continued to Kehl. In Kehl we anchored at the club and stayed there overnight. The next day we went to see Kehl on folding bicycles, already an interesting city, we also went to Strasbourg and that evening we had a nice dinner in the Kehler clubhouse.

On Sunday we refueled in Kehl to be on the safe side (it was only 90 liters of diesel and we only drove against the current), first we continued through the Strasbourg lock to the Rhine Marne Canal.

Then we passed the European Parliament. You can hardly hear the diesel engine, it is extremely quiet and economical. Except for a few locks that you operate yourself, we passed very well. In Waltenheim we moored for free, you only pay for electricity and water with a credit card. The bikes are great for exploring the area. In the evening we had a delicious tarte flambée (very cheap by French standards) in the small restaurant next door.

On Monday we went to Lützelbourg and stayed with nice people at the charter base. Unfortunately only the hotel on the bridge was open as many restaurants are closed on Mondays.

Then we went to Niderviller through two tunnels 2306m and 475m. It is advisable to have a headlamp with you because the lamps in the tunnel do not always work properly.

In Niderviller-Tannenheim we stayed at the Kuhnle Tours rental base where we were welcomed by very good staff.

Then we finished with “Katz”, very good but not cheap, you can treat yourself to something.

We thought our fuel gauge wouldn’t work, because after about 25 hours and 8 kilometers of canal at about 132 km/h it hardly moved at all. The next day we did another big tour, we went to Offendorf. It was great again at the club, we also have some friends who visit us occasionally in Ludwigshafen, we had a great evening with them.

The next day, when it was raining, we drove home through the Iffezheim lock, which we just passed fine, a little wet, but as is known, there are only bad clothes and no bad weather. We drove home in one piece to Ludwigshafen.

The next day we rested, the fuel gauge was still showing half full, we were very surprised how little diesel we used. Another great trip with our 29 YACHTLINE – we look forward to more adventures.

Best wishes

Hubert and Gudrun

We spent 3 wonderful years with the Drago 22IB from Öchsner and then ordered a new Yachtline 29 Wide Beam at Interboot. On April 7, then it was time. When we took a look at our new boat we couldn’t hide our amazement: It’s perfect!

The briefing trip with Florian Öchsner showed how easy this boat is to handle on the water. Everything was explained in detail and no question went unanswered. After a short deviation on the scales (well under 3.5 tons, everything is fine) we towed the boat home with the camper van. Once there, we launched the boat at dusk and drove to our port.

The first impressions of others in our harbor for the next few days aroused a great curiosity about how the new boat looks from the outside but above all from the inside and what the workmanship is like. What to say: There was only positive feedback for the room layout, the headroom in the saloon and the workmanship.

In August, we had to take our boat out of the water for a first inspection (50 engine hours). Here, the good briefing by Florian Öchsner during the handover came in handy. The lip throwing worked great and was even better understood a few days later. The drive on the highway to Kürnach and back was also comfortable and smooth.

Our second vacation took us to the Rhine in the direction of Speyer. The slim boat was an advantage here too. So we were able to use the sports boat locks in the Kleinostheim lock and therefore made good progress very quickly and independently of commercial transport. Even on the Rhine, our boat was always safe in the water. Therefore, we traveled comfortably via Frankfurt, Mainz to Speyer and back in 12 days. The detours on the way back to Reffentahl and Eicher See were also remarkable.

Currently at the end of the season we have 98 engine hours per hour and a consumption of about 8 liters per hour, which I think is a respectable figure for a Volvo Penta V6/240DP and a boat of this size. We are already looking forward to next season with our boat, spending relaxing hours.

Many greetings from Main

After taking over our boat “Yara” from Kürnach at the end of February, we set sail for Werder / Havel in April.

The extended family was part of the party, so we were traveling with 4 adults and 4 children. Since it was still too cold for us to spend the night on board due to the season and an overnight stay with 8 people on board would certainly be a bit too ambitious, we had booked 2 holiday apartments with their own berths.

The first independent slip in the home port worked very well and the 500 km long route to Werder could be covered by trailer without any major delays.

The ship was then launched in Werder and after refueling, we were able to make the short distance along the Zernsee to our dock.

From there we took boat trips in different directions almost every day. The space on board was more than enough for 8 people and everyone could find a comfortable place. With the roof closed, it quickly became cozy and warm despite the still very cold outside temperature (April weather).

We were thus able to explore the whole area on the water in the direction of Brandenburg, Potsdam and Berlin. The pleasant view of the Havel with good connections to Potsdam and Berlin makes it an ideal inland destination. The infrastructure on the water is also excellent. Everywhere there are marinas and recreational areas that invite you to linger and go out.

Since our neighborhood is outside the village on the other side of the lake, we often took the boat to Werder for dinner in the evening, where we could anchor both at the central resting place for water walkers and right in front of our favorite Italian restaurant.

As always, the 11 days went by very quickly and soon we had to start our journey home. This meant: the ship was out of the water again, home in the caravan and there slipping into the water. Everything went smoothly again, thanks to the very nice and detailed briefing by Florian Öchsner in Kürnach.

The fuel economy of the Volvo Penta diesel is very admirable, which manages with a few liters per hour with a mostly restrained driving style indoors. So after more than 25 hours of operation we still had about 2/3 of the tank full.

The four of us could take the next trip and then

We are already looking forward to the summer when we can have an overnight stay on board.

In spring 2016 we took over our brand new sleek boat 29 Yachtline.

The tension was great because we only knew the driving characteristics from test reports.

The 220 hp diesel engine’s performance and smoothness surprised us positively.

Since we were mainly on the Danube and in Croatia with this boat, we were impressed by the timeless design and the unique space combined with the trailer option.

Our first trip took place on the Danube where we had our own berth. Everything worked flawlessly and made our trip more beautiful than ever.

Our children, relatives and friends were extremely enthusiastic and very happy with the new variant because your brand has never had a boat like this.

In July 2016 we started our trip to Croatia on the island of Rab, loaded a few suitcases on the boat and opened fire. After 11 hours of beautiful cruising our boat was allowed to smell the salty sea air. During the whole 2 weeks vacation there were no complications.

We often made trips to Cres, Mali Losinj, Pag island, Sakarun, Kornati, sometimes despite the small harbors we easily found a berth thanks to the practical 9 m length.

During our stay we slept a total of 6 nights on the boat, our three children were always very grateful for the stove on the boat where we made spaghetti and pancakes, as we had plenty of sleeping places and enough space for five hungry hours etc. to cook.

The large swimming dock is very easy to get in and out of both on land and in the water.

In September this year we went with Rab for another week and really appreciated the possibility of the convertible roof as it was very stormy and rainy.

We thank you for the competent advice and excellent service and look forward to many more good times on the 29 -Yachtline-.

Best regards

T.

Delivery of the Drago 29 WB in Kürnach on April 14, 2016

Dear Öchsner team,

First of all, thank you very much for the fast and correct delivery of our new boat Drago 29 Wide Beam. On Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10 am we started to take delivery of the boat with Mr. Küffner, the remaining formalities and documents were explained in detail and handed over to us. Then we went to the saloon with Florian Öchsner and started the first briefing on dry land. He explained the instructions in the trailer very well so that almost no question was left unanswered.

Then we went to the ferry on the Main in sunny weather and with a fresh breeze. First of all we skied very carefully, even as experienced boaters we were happy to have the skiing process explained to us again and to learn a few tricks in the process. Then we got excited on the Main, the engine started immediately and did its job as it should, we were absolutely thrilled with the 220 hp diesel D3 Volvo Penta and above all with the trim assistant, which was absolutely fantastic. After the intensive briefing we slid smoothly onto the trailer and tied the boat up properly. In the workshop we were warmly welcomed by the whole team, where I insisted on toasting the boat.

We were now allowed to hold on and drive to Ludwigshafen on the Rhine, where we slipped smoothly and tied our boat to our dock.

Then we had the first test drive on the Rhine with 7 people (experienced men and women), which was a pleasure, how fast and smooth it was, gliding very fast against the current (at a flow speed of about 12 km/h), Impressive performance.

The Oechsners didn’t promise too much, we were absolutely thrilled and will gladly recommend the Oechsner family and team and hope to stay in touch for a long time. It was a perfect fit.

After the Interboot I took over the Drago 29 Wide Beam Premium Class show boat with 68 hours!

In the meantime I reached Roermond in the Netherlands, Empuriabrava in Spain, Barcelona and Mallorca.

The hour counter now shows 249 hours.

My last vacation was from Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia directly to Spain 1,389 km.

The first morning I let the Drago 29 Wide-Beam into the water and the same day I drove about 140 km along the coast to Barcelona. Then I spent the night in a nice harbor in Barcelona.

The next morning I went straight to Mallorca, about 170 km which I covered in just under 5 hours.

Relaxed, I arrived at the port of Port de Pollenca in Mallorca.

The next morning I started exploring Mallorca. 12 days later I spent the night on the rocks in Mallorca and then drove back to Empuriabrava, 9 hours and 340 km non-stop.

In the last 40 minutes the weather got very bad, the waves crashed into each other and the rescue cruisers came out to look for me!

The Drago 29 Wide Beam mastered this too.

After the impressive return trip, I started the journey home the next morning.

Today, I slide the Drago 29 Wide Beam in and out absolutely solo with a few little helpers like the guiding roles in the trailer.

I have personalized the boat with many extras. The Drago 29 is now completely independent.

I look forward to many more great vacations with the Drago 29 YACHTLINE.

Dear Öchsner team,

After 3 years with a 6,5 m long boat we took the risk and after a long search we decided to buy a Drago 29 29 Yachtline. On June 3, 2015 there was a handover in Kürnach where everything was explained perfectly.

On June 5, 2015 we arrived with our new crew at Porto Turistico in Jesolo, Italy and “watered” our boat for the first time. After a few days of acclimatization, we went to Croatia. Our first stop was in Porec, where we stopped for dinner.

Other destinations were Medulin, Cres Island, Mali Losinj, Rab, Krk… We had a diesel engine installed in our DRAGO, so we didn’t have to refuel very often, you can go very far.

We also drove for a few days with the whole family of at least 8 people. This was also bearable – if only for a limited time – and everyone found a place to sleep.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t always cooperate, so we were allowed to try out our camping hood – whether in the bora or in the rain – it always looks perfect and withstands all kinds of weather.

We worked 120 hours this season and only once had a minor technical problem, but the Öchsner company helped us immediately by phone.

Overall, it is a great boat with lots of sun loungers for sunbathing – inside or outside – there is an oasis lounging.

We really want to congratulate you on this boat, it is really spacious, every comfort has been taken care of, it is very fuel efficient and has all the technology on board.

You are currently in Kürnach for the annual inspection and to install an extended swim platform. But we look forward if you call and we can take our “Splashi” again.

LG from Innsbruck
